Re: Mukilteo Club Dive 2-23-13

Had a great time today, both catching up with old friends and meeting new ones! Dives were good and uneventful (in a good way) but I did wish that we had found the clay walls. The post-dive tacos, beer and dive stories that were shared (not necessarily in that order) more than made up for it. Severa...

Thanks, Tom! My ID on that one was a bit of an semi-educated guess. I am admittedly not the best at classifying sculpins, and the white coloring didn't help.

Re: Redondo 1/31/13 -- with Mr and Mrs Heater

Had been a couple weeks since I'd been in the water, and my gills were suffering. A couple of nice dives at The Dond seem to have the ability to cure what ails ya. As always, Redondo delivered. Numerous small octo's were found, plus about a dozen snailfish, and a large GPO was hanging out under the ...

Did a quick search, and the Oly FO sync cord looks practically identical to the S and S cord. Have you checked to see if the one you already have fits?

Re: WTB: Used PADI Nitrox course materials

Just make sure your instructor is okay with that process, as it goes against PADI policy. Obtaining a Specialty Certification is a bit different than doing an Adventure Dive, and each their own requirements. I don't have one for you in either condition - just trying to provide info that might save y...

Re: WTB: Used PADI Nitrox course materials

Surely someone has a set they're no longer using, and can offer it cheaper? Are you purely looking for knowledge - or is it your intent to get Nitrox certified? If it's the latter, your instructor will (should) require you to tear out the completed Knowledge Review pages from the manual, which she/...

Re: Les Davis muck dive

Wow, google only revealed a handful of pics. I wonder if it is a rare find? It sure was cool. I found a second one at our safety stop, half the size of the one we'd found earlier. It wasn't moving along like the first one, and I had to "nudge" it to see if it was alive or just a pile of m...

Okay, here's a few shots from Sat night. Not all are "keeper" quality - but we saw so much unique stuff that many of the pictures were purely to document what we found. Sea Mouse 1-2.jpg Sea Mouse 2-2.jpg Sea Mouse 3-2.jpg Barnacle Eating Dorids 1-2.jpg Heart Crab-2.jpg Worm 1-2.jpg Worm 2...

Either. I don't really need one long-term - but I'd buy it if someone didn't need it any longer and wanted to unload it.

I'm looking for a cable to download dives from my old Suunto Cobra DC. Anyone have one laying around?

Thanks!

Re: Les Davis 12/21

Thanks! I'm shooting with a Canon G10 in a FIX housing I also use flip-down diopters for the really tiny (but slow moving) stuff. I used them for that that last pic of the Tritonia, which was posted pretty much uncropped. Nice shots, Jesse - coming back to shooting with your G10 is just like riding ...

Les Davis 12/21

In celebration of surviving the apocalypse, Scubie Doo, ZSAOLY and myself headed to Les Davis to see what was left of the underwater world. We hit the water about 7pm, hitting the slack before the flood. Viz was a little milky, but about average for LD - maybe 15ft. Let's just say It was a good day ...

Dusty - thanks for providing the correct link. Pm greatfull diver , he had these flip down lenses that worked really well for macro I now use the same system GDiver used with his G10, but the lens mount only fits the FIX G10 housing (now made by Recsea for the G11/G12) and won't work with the Canon ...

Dyron makes one: http://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/dyron-adapter-canon-g10-g11-g12 So does Fantasea: http://www.amazon.com/Fantasea-EyeDapter-G10-F67-Accessories-WP-DC28/dp/B002RGNTNK And so does Reefnet - a bit more spendy, but looks convenient to switch back-and-forth from macro to wide-angle. Re: Double tanks

I only dive them sort of doubled (sidemount) but they definitely start to float away from the rear D-rings when they get below 1000 and I have to move the clips to the front D-rings. Next time I dive in the daylight I'll take one off entirely and see how it floats. Interesting - old school steels 7...
