haha, yeah. i can get the knife out, but putting it back in the sheath will likely result in a stab wound to the abdomen.
Why? Does SM pull on you differently, so you can't reach the sheath?

Yeah, it depends on the dive and site, but for me remaining gas is kind of an in process checkpoint to let me know when it might be a good idea to think about turning around.

Re: Pony bottle help

Shoot, I have asked innumerable buddies how much gas they have left at various times for various reasons mostly for navigational purposes not because I thought they were going OOA on me any second. And I have been on the receiving end of the question countless times too. This. The only reason I hav...

I missed the number in the article, I thought we here in NWDC just calculated it with a magic number or something thanks! It's really quite simple math. Add the RMV's of the top 7 posters on NWDC, divide by 33fsw, multiply by the number of posts containing the :taco: emoticon, and finally subtract ...

Re: Re: MMM 6/20

I had a funny experience last night with a self appointed scuba-police. We had just finished at the knot, Matt and Ross had both just left and I was moving gear from my cab into my truck bed so I could drive off. An older lady from the Silver-Cloud Inn (a receptionist) came out, glared into my cab ...

Re: Pony bottle help

It really depends what makes you comfortable. I have every intention of tech diving at some point in the future, so all my gear is configured that way, even though I dive single tanks still. I have an AL40 that I sling on occasion because I want to be comfortable with a bottle under my arm. I believ...

Although, I don't see anything on the Washington Department of Health website indicating that beaches are closed due to paralytic shellfish poisoning risk (or any sort of specific biotoxin), just pollution.

In Washington waters, the dinoflagellate species Gonyaulax is the usual cause of red tide. Thank you, Mr. McGowan for 10th grade Marine Science!

This thread is like a punch in the chest during cardiac arrest. It's doing some good but one isn't enough. Keep going or we'll go back to being dead. Way to bring a thread to a screeching halt Ben. Sheesh. Maybe we talk about Jen's cake fixation and ignore him. Aloha hard, -Eric http://fc05.deviant...
