It is a week delay to post this, but I dove Redondo last Thursday ( May 9th) and saw a slim sculpin. This is my first time seeing this fish. I am very excited and want to share.
It was close to carousel boat about 80 feet deep at low tide. I took one pic, and the fish ran away.

I think it is slender cockscomb. Bands under jaw is one of ID key for slender. Happy to see this shy fish. Great shot!

This article is so cool!! Thank you for posting it. In addition to the expansion of hunting range, I also like the fact they stay hiding 94% of the day. That means if you see an octopus open, you are very lucky.

Rhoda spotted this nudibranch at Three Tree Point yesterday. It was about 55' deep. It look like a barnacle eating nudibranch, but seems slightly different to me... Size was about 1". As you see in the picture, there was no barnacle around it either. Any ideas?
