Captain Jack I have to point out that there was a barrier/choke point that native people used to fish at for thousands of years called......Celilo Falls. In Lewis and Clark's Journal, those hungry men far from poor and depleted elk and bison, and tired of dried and pounded salmon eating dogs said th...

Hey no excuses, NW Bobber and Skipper Lauri thanks again for the great day of diving. The weather and your craft Scuba Dooo were superb! I was very comfortable in and out of the water with all of you and enjoyed your company. Hope your Sunday dives were just as good.

Let's go diving on Saturday??????

Any Oregonians out there want to enjoy Spring in the middle of winter. On Saturday March 4th the weather forecast is all about Dryness, Sun and Warmth. I am thinking of trying out Les Davis Park or Sunrise.

Let's go diving.

Great honest report LCF!

I am glad I am not the only one to show up off on the calander. My dentist thought I was weird when, even though I write it on the calander, I showed up a day early for my appointment but they switched from a 2 day reminder to a 1 day reminder.

Re: From Hillsboro, OR (near portland)

Hi Randal!

I am trying to get serious about doing some diving in Oregon and Washington and live in Aloha. I just joined this board too.

I will be going to Busters on the 4th.

I take my gear to Pacific Watersports and find that they are very knowledgeble and have treated me fair.

:goodpost:

I too am in one of the predescribed groups and can dive during the week. Since I live in Aloha (Portland) it would have to be the South Sound.

Thanks Boydski!

I did a search and found your report but you said North of the point. My point of interest is East of the point and maybe South a bit.

I am currious you said you saw trees were they laying on the bottom? Also did you see many crab?

Thanks

Re: Tillamook Parks Boat Launch Rules

So hasslips, we know that everyone (the people) have the use of navigable waterways and that right was granted at statehood and that right can not be infringed. I would assert that scuba divers have the right to use the boat ramp as much as a boaters. Is the ramp at Netarts public?Additionally the m...

Dofflemeyer Point

Has anyone ever dove in front of the light house in at Dofflemeyer Point?

My topography map shows it to be very steep. I was wondering if that is a wall there or just some steep muck?

I couldn't see you but could hear your exhaltations and even followed the sound over to where you were? I didn't know you could do that under water, that was crazy. I thoug...

The Fingers in Newport are supposed to be doable in the winter. The "fingers" (small jetties) stick out perpendicular from the main jetties and guard against swell/current. I haven't actually dove there but that's what I've heard. The only problem is that it's about the same amount of dri...

Ok Dennis and I showed up at Barview at 12:00 the wind was light and the filtered sunshine was warm. Low water by my chart was at 1:07. We checked out the inside end and decide that with the amount of boulder hopping to get to the water there at low tide, we might as well get with it up at the CG to...
