Price now $2,499 for Tubbataha (Siren charters) May 10 & May 17

UPDATE 3/14/23 - The few spots left will be featured in a national dive travel e-newsletter tomorrow for $2,499pp, so they shouldn't last long (you hardly ever see Tubbataha spots discounted). I'd rather have them go to nice folks here in the PNW though :supz: so if you're interested, let me know A...

ALL SOLD - 2 almost-new dry suits XXL-XXXL, and XXL Weezle Extreme undergarment

Since my bad motorcycle accident four years ago (see https://nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25694 ), which blew up my pelvis (among other things), I haven't been diving in cold water, and I've concluded that I probably never will again, so I don't need my two dry suits, or the Weezle underga...

Out of the water almost 2 years, but alive!

Hi, all! For those that don't know, I was in a nasty motorcycle accident a little over a year ago (you can read about the crash, my thoughts/philosophizing, and how I survived 4 months in hospitals and rehab facilities, at: http://bruceyates.blogspot.com/2016/06/my-year-of-patience-and-perspective.h...

3 HP Nitrox Tanks - 2x100cf + 1x130cf - $350 takes all 3!

Hi all. Decided to sell my HP tanks. None have over 20 dives on them - in excellent shape. Selling only as a package (unless no one buys). I live in Medina, just on the East side of the 520 bridge. For more details, see the ad I just posted on Craigslist a few minutes ago: http://seattle.craigslist....

Short video of wreck dive in Truk

I just finally finished editing and adding original sound (by Jeff Greinke, a friend of my dive buddy, Luke) to the one video clip I shot on my recent Truk trip. You can see it here: https://vimeo.com/bruceyates/videos You'll notice on the video that this particular wreck is covered in green caulerp...

First shots with Canon's new 8-15mm Circular Fisheye lens

I just returned from a trip to Truk Lagoon. I posted a trip report about it in the travel forum, but since I spent almost the entire trip giving my new Canon 8-15mmL circular fisheye lens a workout, I thought I'd post a note here, too. Here's the link, which contains a few images, plus links to a fu...

WWII Wreck diving in Truk Lagoon - Photos, etc.

I just returned from Truk Lagoon, where I spent a week diving on shipwrecks from WWII (on the liveaboard M.V. Odyssey). Everyone on the boat was diving nitrox 30 (the only mix available), which was just about right for the deep diving (practically every dive was 100-120 fsw). Many people had dual ta...

Re: Galapagos Trip Photos

Yes, I'd love to hear more details about the trip -- what operator/boat did you go with? What was the approximate cost? What tanks and gas did you dive? What were the profiles? How bad were the currents? I've put the Galapagos way down on the bucket list because of high currents, but those hammerhe...

Re: Galapagos Trip Photos

Beautiful fotos, sounds like a great trip, and sounds like one should bring their drysuit! Did they have steel tanks of a larger size available or were you stuck with al 80's? Tom, While drysuits are usually not necessary (I was there in 2002 and the lowest temps were mid-to-high 60's), that's cert...

Galapagos Trip Photos

I just returned from a wonderful trip to the Galapagos Islands. It was really my first diving since having major surgery a few months ago, and it was a great way to get back in the water! Re: Permission to use photos for paintings?

I agree with others on several fronts. I've been asked by several people/groups to use my photos, and I always consider it an honor that anyone would want to use them. And I'm always a little surprised that anyone would bother to ask my permission! If the use is non-profit, I never ask for compensat...

Great report, Bob, and outstanding photos! Those are HUGE cloud sponges! And the colors on the PSK crab are breathtaking...as is the mountain shot! I can imagine that the beautiful scenery around there was just enhanced by the snow on all the peaks! Sorry to hear you had such a struggle, but I'm not...
