Re: Leftover Guide Lines in Lake Crescent
To my knowledge, they are not unused. It is a line that runs from East Beach to Sledgehammer, and I know many people who have run it. I also plan on running it (not all the way) this summer with a buddy of mine. So I know at least two people who would definitely appreciate it if it were left in You...

Re: This is embarrassing...
About Fundies..... the only required prep I got for Fundies, was experienced advice from Jeremy - to impress Koos, flip him the bird at 100', and do a CESA to the surface. Did I miss something? Say "ahhhhhhhhhh" all the way to the surface... IIRC, it was actually "Brahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Re: For sale: Tech snorkel kit $60
seems very interesting, but im worried about My PPO going above 1.4 with such a snorkle, the other issue is what happens when im cave diving at ginnie springs and i have a failure ? Both of these are real concerns with closed circuit snorkels and even very experienced snorkelers have had accidents ...

Re: Ruston Way Walls
My only question is why we are giving the same wall multiple names... :smt064 Because each wall has a beginning and an end? Or else rename it "one big ass set of walls" or "we found it and you explorer types didn't" I don't think the erosion of one portion of the wall qualifies ...

Re: Sea star die-off
There are tons of sunflower sea stars still alive and looking healthy in the Hood Canal. At least at Sund Rock... I didn't see a single disembodied sea star limb during two dives there this weekend.

Re: Help me understand tides and currents
In short: aim to start your dive right before slack, but also look up additional info on a site. This may include information such as whether or not a site can be dove on slack, ebb or both, adjusted slack times (because a lot of the times the current station is not positioned exactly at the site), ...

I saw these threads a few days ago around the time they were posted, and my stomach did a flip. I did not know Marcia, and my direct interactions with her on SB were limited to just a few, but I knew she was a very experienced diver with lots of passion for the sport. When I saw the thread titled &q...

+1 to everything Selkie posted above. Let's take the example of the most awesome dive - Deception Pass. I know this last September 28th at 11:40 splash was a "good time". By what standard? How would I do the math and come to the same numbers? Get a grip man!!! Are you crazy??? Maybe you'd...

Re: Thinking about moving to WA - where is the good diving?
For a wreck diver there isn't a lot of any size except the Diamond Knot west of Port Angeles. There's plenty! They're just reaaaaaaal deep... For wrecks, both fresh and salt water, check out Scott Boyd's fantastic webpage here, http://www.boydski.com/diving/wreck_dives.htm, or pick up his even more...

Well, if any of you guys are still at UW in a year and a half, I would love to get a diving club started up there. I will be transfering to UW after I get my AS. It'd be great to know people from my college who dive
