Ediz Hook...
Dove on Ediz Hook this afternoon with Bill Roberds and another instructor from BC. My drysuit is bright yellow, which apparently caught the attention of a harbor seal as I was getting in, unfortunately the little guy didn't hang out long. Vis was about 15 feet except when in a cloud of krill which k...

Re: Garfield Bay, Lake Pend Oreille
John, No, I didn't harvest them for a couple reasons. One being that i haven't purchased an out of state fishing license for idaho this year (nearly $100) and depending on where you are, they can be contaminated (mining waste and PCBs). I need to do more research on the contamination zones before I ...

Re: Making the Olympic loop
You have chosen some extremely challenging areas to dive, most not even feasible. I am not aware of any charters for diving on the Pacific coast, nor any shore diving there. There is shore diving off of the jetty in Sekiu, and Salt Creek, but these are difficult, advanced dives. Deception Pass has ...

Re: Old Gear! Oh My! Need advice!
The SeaSoft SeaLion BC adjusts out large enough for big guys (as i fit into that category), but a brand new one is going to set you back more than $500. My only complaint about the SeaLion is that the bladder wraps around under the front weight pockets which can really put the squeeze on as it expan...

Garfield Bay, Lake Pend Oreille
Hi All, My buddy and I dove in Garfield Bay (48.18657,-116.430786) last Wednesday. The surface water was 75F, with a 63F thermocline at 20ft, and was fairly consistent to 50ft. The vis was not the best at about 15ft with a yellow cast. We swam the line across the front of the marinas (about 200yds) ...

Making the Olympic loop
Hi, I have lots of dive opportunities during my vacation this year and am looking for a dive partner(s). I am not familiar with these areas at all, so someone with some knowledge would be good. This is my third summer scuba diving and have logged on the order of 40 cold water dives in that time and ...

Hi from North Idaho
Hi All, My name is Patrick. This is the third summer of my dive career. I've logged approximately 40 dives, mostly in Lake Pend Oreille where the water is cold and the bass are frisky. I've been to the Sound a few times (Redondo twice and Les Davis once), and have logged a couple dives off Waikiki. ...
