Re: Question
I am naming my X scooter TES. and if I am fortunate enough to get a second one, it will be called NIK. Lightning or Time.... In light of the scooter names, one can correctly assume Lightning. With that harnessed in a bottle, I'd then have a way to solve some of our global energy issues... Who need c...

Re: Good info for the DIR types
UDT, NAUI, PADI, GUE, DIR, Etc..
No matter how gear is rigged, no matter how many cert cards and patches one has, a divers pool of buddies is limited only by ones own comfort level and experience, and what we _want_ out of a given dive.

Re: Good info for the DIR types
The biggest problem with the whole DIR / non-DIR issue is the INTERNET!!!!!! The second biggest 'problem' was GI3 selecting an acronym that implies that everyone else was is doing it incorrectly. Newsflash! time to get past that! Both DIR and non-DIR's alike. Get off the boards and come DIVE (with u...

Re: DIY thread
So you are just sandwiching in your cam strap between backplate and STA? (I notice no cam strap holes) Here is my latest DIY. Since nobody wanted to sell me one at a reasonable price I decided to do my own STA. After looking at all the stuff out there this is what I came up with. $15 bucks including...

Re: NWUE Buddy Group
Actually it is NOT unique to DIR by any means. Think back to the AIR 2. I believe NASDS was teaching 'donate the primary' (or at least allowed their instructors to train that way) for quite some time. I don't know about pre-1990's but i know for sure in the the early 90's. Oh, no offense taken! I do...

Re: NWUE Buddy Group
there are about 5,642 threads out there with 'us vs. them' DIR info. I do not want this thread to go that direction, if you want to talk about that stuff, and why we use the gear, do whatever one way or another, show up in person and we'll chat human to human. No internet discourse. That time is pas...

Re: NWUE Buddy Group
At this point, I humbly request that CCR divers bring/arrange another CCR diver to dive with. Currently we are unable to comfortably supply you with a 'like gear' dive buddy, and I do not know of anyone in our 'leadership' group who is savvy enough with CCR to do pre-dive checks and trouble shoot th...

Lets just say that on the way in... we looked up from 50 or 60 feet, and not only could we see ripples for ever... we could see the CLOUDS!!!!!! yup... discernible ...

Re: Back from Hawaii and just got certified as a tech diver
What gear do your buddies dive? It would be wise to discuss this with your 'team' and get tanks that make sense for the dive y'all are planning to do. You've already mentioned a Halcyon BCD, have you taken DIRF or the NAUI intro to tech yet? With the questions you've posted, it sounds as though gear...

Nice! I think more peeps should do scooter art... just your initials is kinda boring :) Or at least name them! I like the idea of a series of "nose art" style decals... seen at 1:00 min here http://www.vimeo.com/1162791 and of course the oh so styling chompers here... (in the beginning) ht...
