Re: Looking for a great inexpensive light?
The foam filler wouldn't be a very good idea. That stuff compresses really quick with depth. How much clearance is there? How about using bicycle inner tube. It's non slip and not effected by saltwater. Dam!!! That falls smack dab in to the, "No $h*t Sherlock" category doesn't it Dusty? I...

Re: Looking for a great inexpensive light?
I was showing this setup to a buddy of mine and he came up with a suggestion I thought I would run by everyone here. He was asking about putting a bigger piece of PVC on the aluminum bracket without cutting it and filling the void with something like foam pipe insulation. The type you would wrap ar...

Re: solid lead weights for XS Scuba trim pockets
Gotcha...I would have figured on the hard weights being a PITA to get in and out of the pockets.Jeff Pack wrote:thats not the problem, the problem is the shot settles in the pouch, and is then hard to get out.

Re: solid lead weights for XS Scuba trim pockets
One thing to keep in mind is that with the soft weights you are able to adjust their shape to get them in the pouch with a hard weight there is no adjustment in the shape. How about making a cloth pouch to match the interior size of your ditch pockets and fill them with the shot? Weigh them out to ...

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/09/04/epu8edud.jpg I like your idea, mind if I copy it and do something along those lines for mine? I got my light for my birthday but have had a chance to dive it yet. I will admit I tried it out in the hot tub though. I couldn't help myself...I had to get it wet. I po...

Re: Nitrox training
From what I have learned recently everyone is right about agencies. I am switching from SSI to NAUI for AOW, Drysuit, Nitrox and any other cert I find myself wanting down the road. When I talked to the NAUI instructor, I specifically asked if we had to go thru his NAUI OW and he said no but that he ...

Re: Missing Diver off South Bainbridge
This type of situation is sad to hear about regardless of the how's and why's. My condolences go out to the family. As for other people...I think people need to step back and count to 10 or take a deep breath before typing. Insensitivity or over sensitivity either one will cause people to say things...

My garage is so UN-insulated I would be really hesitant to hang anything up out there except during the summer months.

First let me say congratulations to you guys for passing. I have little to no idea what GUE Fundamentals courses are like but after reading this thread I find myself interested in finding out. I am very new diver so I will watch with interest and look forward to learning more about GUE Fundamentals.

Re: Bar Vew Jetty ( Garibaldi OR )
I know this is a bit late but as a newer diver I can confirm that this is not a novice dive. From a boat where you can drift with the inbound tide it is not too bad for us newb's but from the jetty I would suggest you pass. I thought I was in decent shape and found out the hard way just how good of...

Re: Seacrest underwater harvest protection
I was reading a thread on spearboard today - no I am not a member - and a lot of the divers over there are slamming divers here and on Scubaboard really hard. There are a few "spearos" there that have an understanding of what is going and why everyone here is so upset about this situation....
