Get a copy of Tidal Currents Of Puget Sound by Starpath Pubs. It has NOAA Current charts and Tide Prints. Tide Prints tell you the crazy directions the current at this site take and is based on Seattle tides making it easy. The Current Charts say this area is weak or variable for all tides. That mea...

Edgewater,T Dock (really looks like an "I"), Fuel Dock, Boeing Dock, Old Fuel Dock. It's hard to follow even for someone who has been there many times. There's even one web site that mistakenly refers to the Fuel dock as the T Dock. So for those struggling with it I offer this: https://far...

Saltwater Park Sunday 5/15
Mask and fins found on beach.
I found a GoPro at 55 feet on first reef. He had his name inside so it has already been returned to owner.
It pays to mark your gear.

There's two Tugs in the park. Unless you have a knowledgeable guide stay away from the Alitak and Delion drydock. Get a waterproof chart from Edmonds UW Sports $10. Go west on jetty way. You can pick it up feet from the jetty or swim out to one of the yellow buoys. Take a right on Northern Lights (m...

Re: Where have all the Titlow barnacles gone?
I was surprised at the absence of barnacles on the pilings at Wells Point last November.
I also saw very few crab, Cabezon and Ratfish that had been in abundance years before.
Similar at Haines Warf although I only saw a few outer pilings. Seems like a lot more Kelp crab though.
Photos available.

Re: Sea lion friend or foe?
Any damage to his head? I was on top of the Possession Ferry last summer when a sea lion made a beeline for me from about 20 feet away and didn't stop till his nose was inches from my mask. It seemed like it looked into my eyes for an uncomfortably long time. I foolishly reached to push it away with...

My dive log comments for Point Wells dock: Both mid day boat dives June 3, 1999 "30-40 FT VIS, Many big Cabezon, Ratfish, no crabs" My falable memory says there were hundreds of Ratfish. Nov 8, 2015 "15 FT VIS, No mature fish, tons of fingerling Rockfish, Perch, Tubesnouts, very few b...

I used to see hundreds under the Wells Point Dock. I thought it was in Fall but saw only a few last Nov 8.

I can't imagine going to Sekiu without diving my favorite - Hoko Reef. Of course you have to have a boat (3 miles from Sekiu) or scooter (.2 miles from Kydaka point).

I don't know but here's some info that may help your search. There are underwater remnants of WWI and WWII defenses around Puget Sound like the submarine nets in Rich Passage and the degaussing station near Point Jefferson. It's been a long time but I think the submarine net anchors are large concre...

Camano Wall VIS 25 to 30 feet at 50 to 100 FSW. About 15 feet at Gedney (Hat Is) Barges at 75 FSW - We saw nothing but rubble but may not have covered it all. The wood piling seawall has been replaced by concrete since I was here last. Perhaps anchoring the work barge hastened the demise of the old ...
