Re: Lake Washington Dive Sites
Denny Blaine Park has a nice wall from 45 to 85 feet. North and south from there has deeper walls and ledges.

There used to be a buoy at each end. My last dive there July 2018 there was no buoy on the surface. On July 2017 there was a buoy so some time between.

Re: The Bottle Thread
How old is it? It has a grab mark on a side and bottom. Bottom is smooth except a bit of an edge that seems like its a cap. One small bubble.
Label side is flat the other rounded.

I haven't done it from shore yet but intend to. There is access. I'd use scooter.Tom Nic wrote:From shore?ohopdiver wrote:Just 3 more miles to the mother load, Hoko Reef.

Re: Gray whale behavior
Maybe a combination of dredging a bit too far and decay. Toss in some damage due to anchoring the construction barge. It's still a decent dive but not a Ling hot spot.

Re: Gray whale behavior
I did not see the "No Diving" sign. The barges are still there, just decayed almost to the point of rubble. I don't believe they were dredged. Here's the marina plan that shows dredging was planned inside and was authorized only to the entrance. http://www.hatisland.org/library/timely_info...

It resurfaced a few hundred yards away in the bay south of the marina, splashed around a bit in shallow water then did the spy thing in you...

Re: Small tide change better visibility ???
Too may variables that are usually more important than tidal current. All else being equal at a given site it may be true. However it may be the opposite if the site is silty and it gets stirred up by divers. Then you want current to clear the area.
