Used camera gear for sale: Inon S-2000 $200 ($365+ on BS right now) **SOLD** Good little strobe. Works well with P&S sized camera, ball mount/arm adapter included. Optically fired (no sync cable), includes optical cable (I use slide film over camera flash, and velcro cable to housing). Manual an...

WTB workhorse 2nd stage octo
Hey all
Friend is getting gear kit together. Anyone have a 2nd stage/octo to sell for reasonable price?
Something like an R190, R195, Alpha 8, or anything workhorse.
Thanks!

Re: Singles Wing Configuration Discussion
Tom I have an Oxycheq mach V 30#, and my buddy "Magoi" has the 40#. Great wings. Very slim and trim in the water. Rumor has it both wings have the same size bladder inside, just a different size stitched cordura outer. Not that that matters much, anywho, it has a zipper to remove/clean ins...

Re: Newbie questions about gear
Greenacarina I'd give the shop a call. Once you have met with your instructor and have the paper/temp card in hand there shouldn't be a problem getting some tanks. And +1 on getting out to see and talk with people about what they dive and why they do things a certain way. The divers who have well th...

Re: Bottom Timers - Recommendations, Please
Don't mean to hijack at all, figured this goes along with bottom timer talk. (disclosure, I'm not DIR) Would a uwatec bottom timer on a bungee mount mess up a compass (sk7) bungee mounted on the same arm. Reason I ask, I have a wrist computer on one arm and compass on other. It'd be nice to have bac...

Re: Wanted: Good Used Primary Stage Regulator
The first stage is DIN, and the pony I mentioned has a DIN valve as well. Let me check when the last VIP was. I am sure it will need to be VIPed again, but I would recommend that for any tanks purchased used. Make me an offer on the stuff. It has been just sitting here gathering dust, and if someone...

Re: Wanted: Good Used Primary Stage Regulator
I have an aqualung, DIN first stage that I used to use with a pony. Not needed anymore. How does $50 sound? I'd give you the first stage and my old 19cu ft pony for 75. Or 100 for those with the quick draw mount. Pictures aren't uploading properly. I'll pm or email you.

Re: What Fins Do You Use & Why?
your mileage may vary...everyone is different after all :) I like my Jets, though my drysuit boots fit an XL...if that weren't the case I'd be looking at the Hollis F1s. Slipstreams are "lighter" I believe, and turtles are a bigger foot pocket. In warm water I use a full foot blade fin whi...

Re: Aluminum vs steel tanks
Scubnewb Totally hear you. I also do not like it when people "talk down" to others whether it be about diving or not...just because they think they are right or know more. I'll say this, my reason for using HP100s is because my instructor and now good friend uses them exclusively while div...

Av8tor Unfortunately I cannot make the Muk club dive on the 31st. I would still be down to meetup for a dive and let you see what a HP100 or HP119 feels like underwater. Shoot me a PM if you ever want to go. I am usually free after 7:30pm weekdays or most of the time on weekends. I would highly reco...

Av8er, spudgunman and whoever is reading this thread! I am sure there are multiple people who are in the process of purchasing tanks or thinking about changing their rig. Maybe we could plan a little tank demo dive with a few different styles for people to test. I've got a HP100 and HP119 for someon...

I'll tag in and double the "yay" for HP100. If you want to try a HP100, I am down to go for a dive and let you try one.

Will, If you get a weezle, make sure it is long enough. Errr, tall enough in the torso. I have a "small-tall/long". I have found that you need a little extra material as it doesn't stretch much. If you like touching your toes all the time :). Fortunately I tried one on first and got it siz...

I'll forgive you about Pliny...hehehe ;). On another note, I am guilty of not giving more Belgians a go. Definitely the largest "untapped" style of beer for me personally. I need to branch out from my IPAs...I just love them too much and we've got great hops here! I'll definitely look you ...

Don't know that one. I like most Belgian beers, but some can be a little too sweet for my taste. Russian River Damnation...I had it wrong :D... Consecration is their sour. Both good beers though. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/863/45653 http://russianriverbrewing.com/brews/damnation/ I know y...
