Re: Keystone -- after the storm

So.... every time I mentioned to someone that I had never dove Keystone they turned to me in wide eyed incredulity, "YOU'VE NEVER DOVE KEYSTONE?!?!" :tomnic: :nutty: :BDub: Wow... give a guy a break... Seattle traffic is evil and I live in the South end, which makes several awesome norther...

Re: Seasoft Fined For Dumping Lead, Arsenic

I just read the whole thing. Even if I only take half of what he says as the truth, that is a classic example of a state agency steamrolling over a small business. I might have taken what he’s saying with a larger (maybe 3-5 shotgun shells worth of) grain of salt, but I myself have been on the rece...

Re: Home for the holidays! Let’s dive

I've got a chunk of days available to dive during that time as well. Please post your plans, and if you're having trouble figuring some out we can get creative! Not sure what tides are doing during that time but we should be able to find some great places to dive! (A day at Sund, anyone?!)

In the meantime, back to Bonaire this Summer.... surprise, surprise.

Re: Seasoft Fined For Dumping Lead, Arsenic

I dug out my old copy of Lange's Handbook of Chemistry. Lead oxide (PbO) is yellow. Lead chloride (PbCl2) is white. The milky stuff we are probably seeing from our soft weights is probably lead chloride (not definitive). It could form if some of the lead dissolved due to corrosion or some other typ...

Pretty cool, but the response indicates that 24 might be a bit ambitious. Maybe 12?!?

Awesome shots, btw!

Yikes! I'm guessing not the best conditions for my first "experiencing Keystone" dives!!!

I think that since the wind is out of the South the surf isn't as bad?!?!!? Not sure. I know a North or East wind blowing directly on the shore is terrible....

I'd like to..... the rain I can deal with (100% chance), but the 18 mph south winds (worse in the afternoon) might be a bit much. I'm sure that underwater things are amazing! We shall see.....

Tell me about it. I braved the 20 mph winds - lots of work for one "normal" dive.

I'd just love to spend a few days diving up there! And you never know what secret passes are lurking in the wings.....
