Hey, maybe newbies CAN give worthwhile advice?!? [-X I purchased a perscription mask before my initial certification, and diving being such a visual sport I'm glad I did! Other than that, unless you REALLY know the direction your diving will be taking I would really echo Bassman's thoughts of rentin...

Calvin! My sympthies on the neck seal... that stinks! Sorry that mapping Three Tree did not work out. Selfishly, I would love a map of the site. Realistically, it is too spread out with not enough structure to map easily. It is a huge site. It was great diving with Nailer and Mav... even if we didn'...

There's got to be more to this story... sorry for the skepticism. Come on... what kind of dive buddy would just sit there filming while you were in a fight for your life? Was anything done to provoke the octopus? :axe: I know that they are not cuddly, and anything THAT BIG has to eat big stuff... :t...

Welcome Tom! It's about time we had some more Tom's around here! Puget Sound diving is absolutely wonderful... though I am itching for a warm water tropical dive or three! Once you get past the cold (easily doable with a dry suit) and the viz, the life and variety here is a blast. Plus, you might as...

Bassman and myself have done 8 dives at 3 Tree North. Current has never been a big issue, though if the exchange was huge all bets would be off, of course. I will plan on being there around 2, with two tanks. Just point me in the right direction, tell me what to do, and I'll help as much as my ample...

Congrats Janna! It's nice to get new stuff, but what a headache in the meantime! This highlights a dillemma for the majority of us who do our diving from shore... what to do with our gear in the meantime. I remember wanting to hoof extra tanks, etc shoreside so as not to have to hike all the way bac...

I AM SPIDERMAN :supz: :supz: :supz: Funny, he was always my favorite super hero! I remember reading all the Spiderman comics :book: when they were 10 cents, 12 cents, and then becoming VERY upset when they hit 25 cents. Boy I wish I had saved some of them! :axe: ...more coin for buying dive equipment!

Please allow me to echo most of the comments here... -Money REALLY complicates things, and one of the beauties of this club is that it is free! -That being said, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and I'm sure the majority of folks on this board want to pay their own way. -I know that I would b...
