Yeah it is a Ford 302. Our plan going in was if the engine turned and had good compression we would start spending money on the boat, if it was frozen.... Well not worth the cost to rebuild.

That picture gives me some hope! Power washing and turning the engine over by hand this weekend. Found some rust on the starboard side plugs, hopefully it will turn. Went diving tonight at Redondo and we saw a boat that nobody had seen before. The boats name is "The Black Pearl" it was located southwest of the boat that GPO lives under, maybe 30 ft away @ about 68ft. It looks like it is very recent, speedboat of some sort.

Time will tell what will happen here. First step is to identify any potential show stoppers before sinking any money into this thing.

Thanks for the link to the book. There is a chance I may get in over my head with this, but on the other hand I am good with mechanics and electronics. Just looking to know the basics of this boats flaws. For example electrical issues versus a cracked engine block are very different routes to go down.
