Re: What conditions can we expect from the Clay Wall tomorrow
My bad, in my ignorance I assumed that reference is unambiguous. We were considering to go to Mukilteo tomorrow. A concern was raised about runoff.

Re: Recreational chamber ride?
Ah, then maybe not worth it, thanks. I don't remember when/where I originally heard about it, that was before I moved to Seattle, so I didn't register. But, this article below seems to ring a bell, and a quick web search seems to suggest some chamber rides were being done in Vancouver, BC even this ...

Recreational chamber ride?
I once heard that somewhere in Vancouver, group rides were being offered (or maybe it was just a one-off) that allowed healthy, unbent divers to experience the real thing for educational purposes. I always meant to find out more, mostly because I thought it might be a good opportunity to experience ...

Re: Who's your favorite ear doctor
Thanks. I also suspect some sort of undiagnosed allergy/inflammation, although I do not feel at all congested. I don't have any symptoms distinct from what I've had over the past 5 years, and it doesn't seem like I'm doing anything differently. I moved to PNW a year ago, and I've started diving 10 t...

Re: Who's your favorite ear doctor
Thanks, Fritz. What's wrong: left ear "locks up" and does not equalize, usual techniques ineffective (right ear works like a swiss watch). Sudafed (proper), saline sprays, nasonex all ineffective. Left has always been worse, but the problems with it very much intensified in the past 1-2 mo...

Re: Where did the Honey Bear come from?
A part of it, at least... I suppose we won't know more today than we knew in 2009... I presume it's more than 30 years old, since otherwise someone would have remembered more details? Anyhow, what a romantic story! A hot rod from Anacortes that broke out of its leash and set out on a journey south i...

Re: Tips and tricks for chasing drysuit leaks?
If the inflate valve has failed you will blow water into the suit every time you use it. Replacing the orings can fix it (there are 2) but sometimes the innards get scratched and then you are stuck replacing it. Never ever buy an apeks, they suck just as bad as their exhaust valves. Get a sitec. Ro...

Re: Tips and tricks for chasing drysuit leaks?
Is the wetness all over? Or one arm/leg and not the other? The fusion's I have seen have generally lots of condensation inside. Hmmm... since I bought it, there has always been wetness on the left arm (*). In addition, though, I seem to have some dampness that I did not remember having in the past....

Tips and tricks for chasing drysuit leaks?
Despite replacing the inflator valve, and cleaning the dump valve, I'm still getting damp inside, and it seems to be getting worse. I'm starting to hate my Fusion. I've done the DUI test that involves turning the suit inside-out ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRO2P0348sU ), several times actually...

Dump valve woes.
My left drysuit arm has been getting a little wet since when I bought the suit (Fusion). I used to keep it a few clicks closed, but the suit still seems to be getting wet. More so recently. Not condensation. Another inside-out bathtub leak check came out negative. Time to get a closer look at that d...

Re: How many dives do you get out of your argon cylinder?
Thanks, everyone! That's just what I was thinking... to start getting used to dedicated 6 cuft inflation bottle for when I will eventually need it, but to not bother with argon yet and just top off from my doubles. Sounds like a fairly common practice.

How many dives do you get out of your argon cylinder?
What sort of cylinder? Actual fill pressure? Do you trans-fill from another tank? Top off with air, or just use air? Do you use it for every dive?

Re: Light advice
The LM LED is a fine light, as are pretty much all of that general canister type ilk (Halcyon Focus, EOS, HID, Etc..). If your reason for wanting to get a different light is to go light cord-less or smaller light head or whatever, then go for it, but if you are looking to choose something different...
