Re: FREE DUI Drysuit.
I'd be a perfect fit. 5 11 and 160 lbs. 31 waist. The rub is I'm not a newly certified diver, instead a diver who is shortly in need of a new suit. Cant hardly get thru dives without a leak... maintenance on the suut is cost prohibitive. Your call I'd sury be greatful.

Re: Deception Pass night dive 9-21-15
The glow sticks marking the actual sheltered place we descended @ 30ft ended up being very useful. To be honest I have used this method before and usually don't come back up with the lights, it was just to further stack the odds in our favor. As I said before the two teams remained separated for 30 ...

Re: Deception Pass night dive 9-21-15
For the exit I got 3 halogen lights that lit the shore and wall in a configuration of 2 and then 1 further away to tell direction. I also brought two chemical light sticks with me which I attached to the wall at about 30 ft when we first descended so I knew where I was on the drift back. Coming back...

Re: Deception Pass night dive 9-21-15
Did the dive last night as planned. The exchanges were(and still are) favorable. The dive was amazing. The current felt slightly stronger than predicted but we entered at 9:15pm as 2 teams of 2. We stayed at our planned depth of 40ft for the majority of the dive. The two teams seperated briefly but ...

Yes, emphasis on shallow. The boat traffic looks to be mostly kayaks.
I guess the name was given to the cove because during the smallpox outbreak people would bathe in the clear water in hopes of curing themselves...

Re: San Juan Islands!
Lime Kiln was cool for the fact that we were diving near Orcas and always looking over our shoulder for them. We did it from shore so there was a significant amount gear hauling but the dive was cool. Lots of current even near slack. Smallpox bay was the exact opposite. Shallow 20ft dive and zero cu...

Re: Deception Pass night dive 9-21-15
Had a great dive at the pass yesterday. We will dive it twice today, once around 10am then again around 9:30pm. There will be 4 of us going at night. Conditions are pretty good there right now. From our dive there yesterday- http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/21/33717d4dab00f26d75c98d4ee4d57497.jp...

San Juan Island shore dives?
Does anyone know of any shore accessible/kayak accessible dive sites on San Juan Isand? I tried searching the internet but only came up with a few boat only dives. We have dove around Orcas Island many times and it seems hard to believe that there aren't any dives further west given the abundance of...

Re: RE: Re: 25 dollars for what????
While the park ranger won't give permission, is there any real legal authority to not using the park after dark to dive? No offense to all law enforcement folks, but some do tend to make their own rules. My point exactly, I don't need to park my van in their parking lot it would just make it easier...

Re: RE: Re: 25 dollars for what????
Since the parking lot is closed at night, I would assume the $25 goes to pay for the person's time to come and lock up after you. Seems totally fair to me. Why should they do it for free when they don't have to do it at all? Just my 2 cents. There is no gate to open or close. They tell us that its ...

I'm being very nice to him even layed out a dive plan. I'm taking the proper avenues to acquire a permit and pay the appropriate (but ridiculous) fees. I've done this at a half dozen state parks in Washington alone. He is the one making the problem, not us. Trolls and gate keepers, nothing more. Th...

Re: 25 dollars for what????
We tried pulling the usual permit for a drift dive Sunday night and the ranger told us the fee to dive had been raised to 25. It's not posted because night diving, or being in that parking lot, isn't allowed at night unless by permit. Fuck the park service. I'm having conversations with Jack the man...
