Thanks for the info on the diameter of the pipe. Now I don't have to suffer with wet feet when I get IN to my suit \:D/

What are the dimensions do you need for the pipe so it doesn't break?

Rebreather softcore

Was rooting around and came across the request for some rebreather pics. Hope these come out ok. It's the first time I've tried to post a picture. These were in a pile of photos that my wife got from her Dad. The first one was used as both a CCR & a SCR. As a CCR it was only used to a depth of 2...

Hey

Valerie, Sounds like you had a lot of fun! Just the thought of an overhead gives me the willies [-X When you get into the caves let us know- We have the people to get you to the water but we're still trying to figure out the insurance thing (haven't got to John's contacts yet). Looking forward to se...

Re: sick divers- cough, cough

Don't think 3 would be a crowd;-) We're in the process of getting seats w\tank racks installed in the boat and when that is done 8 will be comfy and 10 would be cozy.

sick divers- cough, cough

Hey,

Don't worry about the sickness- The woman that helps out on the dive boat is a paramedic as am I. We can probably get the local nurse to write you a note.

That's kind'a what we were thinking. The ADU trip is going to do a bunch of video and are talking about bringing a couple of scientist types that might be able to help us map out a strategy. Figured the more input we could give them before they arrived the better. We'll see what developes. Cheers, S...

Janna, You're more that welcome to come up at anytime. We're open all year round except for a couple of quick trips to the outside world. We're off to Vancouver for a fund raiser for the Dive Industry Accosiation of BC at the end off November and then a couple days in Bellingham for a gas mixing cou...

Corals

Hi Janna, Thanks for the response. Some of the small ones can be found at 85-90' and the larger ones start to get numerous at about 120'. John and Valerie found a couple good sized ones on the Nootka Island side at 93'. We don't have the funds to hire an ROV so the physical count at variuous depths ...

Gorgonian Corals

Hi everyone, I got a call from Fisheries and Oceans Canada the other day regarding a spot that we are trying get closed to all commercial and sport fishing due to the possible damage to the corals and sponges that grow there. He said that if we could do a count on the numbers that are there it would...

Hi Jackie,

Glad to hear that someone remembers the days of no BC's. Seems like a long time ago! If we ever meet maybe we should try out my old double hose to see if it really works:-}

Poor John Rawlings, sure looks like he gets picked on a lot. But then again he was the the guy who stood on the back deck of the boat and warmed up the whole sound and raised the water level an inch and a half.

Dry glove equalization

I tried going without the tubes for about 2 dives and then started tucking my inner glove under the wrist seals. Had to do this cuz the gloves were fine until I started up and then the air that leaked past the seals wouldn't go the opposite way so I would end up with Crusty the Clown hands. Had to l...

Hello- Finally!

We were introduced to and encouraged to sign up with the NWDC by John & Valerie after they came to Nootka Sound to check out the scenery. After signing up a couple of weeks ago and checking out the way things seemed to work I figured it was time to sit down and introduce myself to everybody inst...
