Edmonds and Alki Pipeline - 15-Oct-2022
Arrived at Edmonds and the wife/dive buddy and I were immediately distressed to see that the driftwood orca thingy on the jetty is gone! Anyone know what happened? After getting over the shock we suited up and had a great dive, going out on jetty way to the lopez pontoon and then back on cathedral. ...

Keystone Sept 6+7 2020
Wife/dive buddy and I spent sunday + monday of labor day weekend on whidbey and got a few dives in at keystone. We ended up doing two dives at the jetty and one at the pilings. Our current math was off (used tidal height instead of current speed DOH!) so our dives were a little more vigorous than pl...

The wife/buddy and I only had 1 full tank each and wanted to do a long dive so naturally we thought of Edmonds. We showed up on a foggy + rainy saturday and found what appeared to be a dive class being taught for 10-15 year old kids with drysuits. Seeing a dozen middle school-age kids with DUI drysu...

what compass do you all use?
I've been using one with a built in retractor because I like holding it out at arm's length, but I've never been that happy with it because the card itself is pretty sticky and I don't love having things dangling. As for wrist-mounts I feel like I don't really have the flexibility in a drysuit to ho...

14-june-2020: sunrise beach
Tides looked promising for a current-sensitive dive so the buddy/wife and I decided to head to sunrise beach. It was our first time at the site and after reading reports on the internet about the walk to the beach we were nearly shaking with terror as we parked. It's really not that bad, even in dry...

25-may-2020: seattle tennis club wrecks
I hadn't done this one before and the combination of recent reports of terrible visibility in the sound, big exchanges, and parking issues at various sites made it seem like a good day for lake washington. The GUE map showed a handful of wrecks at a depth of 22-24 ft close to the seattle tennis club...

Re: Lake Washington Dive Sites
Reviving an old thread... What about good Lake Washington shore dives in recreational depths? I've done the corsair and I-90 bridge but would be interested in others. After a little searching on NWDC, it sounds like some options might be: PBM mariner - looks to be too far from shore the Louie - look...

I-90 bridge (lake washington) 29-Mar-2020
The wife/buddy and I wanted to try and find a site that wouldn't be too crowded on a sunny sunday so we went to the I-90 bridge. Parking lot was closed, but there was a sign saying that the park was open so we just parked on the street nearby. Water was a refreshing 45 F and visibility was around 10...

Saltwater state park 21-Mar-2020
My dive buddy/wife and I have long debated whether or not Saltwater is current sensitive. We decided to settle the argument by doing two dives there on Saturday, the first at slack and the second at max flood. Drumroll….. she won. The first dive (at slack) had mild current at first but then built up...

At Edmonds this past saturday (29 feb) I saw a few of these little translucent critters darting around. I could only see them when my light was on them and it took me several tries to capture one on video. I made a youtube video that plays it normal speed and then 8% speed. I would estimate they wer...

Sevylor inflatable diving kayak - 100$
Sevylor SVX2020, along with 2 paddles, 2 seats, and a pump. I got this of craigslist sometime around 2010-2012 and only used it a couple of times. It's been in my closet ever since. Here's an amazon link for the seats: https://www.amazon.com/Sevylor-Seat-Sit-Kayaks-Sevytex/dp/B000FMPJI6/ref=cm_cr_ar...

want to trade tanks
Looking to trade an HP80 (PST or genesis) for something larger, or an HP120 (faber) for something smaller. Both are 7.25" diameter.
I'm only interested in high pressure 7.25" diameter tanks.

Re: Flagpole + Sund Rock, Nov29+Dec1 2019
Thanks everyone for the identifications!! After googling, I think the unknown fish is definitely a plainfin midshipman. My fish ID book (Humann/Deloach) says they're common to abundant but I think this was my first sighting. We did see a cabezon at Flagpole, but it was no where close to the eggs - i...

The wife/buddy and I went to Hood Canal for the long weekend after Thanksgiving. Friday afternoon as we drove up the canal on 101 we were treated with clear skies, sun, and glass-calm water. However 20 min later when we got to Mike's Beach Resort to pay the exorbitant 45$ fee and get the key and a h...

11-Nov-2019 Titlow + Les Davis
The wife/buddy and I did a dive at Titlow yesterday morning with two friends who are hardcore swimmers but softcore divers. We decided Titlow would be good for them because it's shallow, close to shore, and we knew they wouldn't mind swimming against the current if required. It was a sunny day and l...

Fox Island 20-Oct-2019
We’ve never been to Fox Island before, but the tides looked good for a mid-morning dive so we decided to do the east wall and then a second dive at the west wall. Fox Island East Wall: Slack at the narrows (big flood -> small ebb) was at 11:35 at south end of the narrows and based on the advice from...

Keystone June 22/23 2019
The buddy/wife and I were staying in Langley for the weekend and had never dove Keystone, so we planned on doing one dive at slack on Saturday afternoon and a second on Sunday afternoon. And a pre-dive lunch on Saturday at Pickles as that appears to be a requirement based on my reading of other NWDC...

Arrived around 1:30 after some delicious chicken fried steak at Claire's restaurant. The parking lot was full and we started unloading our gear when none other than Bruce Higgins called to us, said he was about to leave, and offered us his spot. "Don't worry about the sign [reserved for underwa...

recommended setup/settings for gopro?
I recently started diving with a gopro hero 7, taking stills and video. I have a big can light but no separate light for the camera. I've experimented a little with the camera and settings but I was wondering if anyone on here had any advice. I tested out a cheap red filter that I found on amazon an...

Dive 1 at Les Davis around lunch time. Cold clear day and cold water - 46 F on my computer. Looked live some classes out but I think they were hanging out in the sand and practicing skills. Some brave students out there in wetsuits! There was a big school of perch hanging around the eastern end of t...

Dove the old I-90 bridge for the first time today. Trying to follow some directions found online, we swam out to here map.jpg and then dropped and headed south. We swam south for a while and ... didn't find the bridge. I figured a highway bridge would be hard to miss, but I guess we're talented. We ...

Just got a new gopro and tried it out at Cove 2 this past Sunday. I'm not much of a photographer and don't have any fancy lights (just my can light) but these came out better than I expected.

Re: The Bottle Thread
Found a full bottle of corona this summer at the bottom of lake washington while diving the corsair. Not sure of vintage. Had to pour it into a glass to drink it because of some muck near the mouth of the bottle under the cap.
