Yep, I always see them on great sculpin too. if you look really close they are a round little "mouth-like" thing attached to the sculpin. Gross!

Re: Northwest Nudibranchs
It always easier for me to remember the common name on 'em. I know what you mean, and for some nudis that is definitely true. For others.... not so much. For instance, Flabellina triophina , one of my favorites doesn't have a "common" name that sticks in my head. Or it is different from I...

If this was the batch on the cabin cruiser, it looks like they are still there. I wonder what they are and when they will hatch. It can't be much longer now. This was taken last night on Jan 22.

Good idea, that's a fantastic book. Janna's REEF class is definately worth taking too. She'll give you all the little secrets on howto quickly identify those tricky little sculpin. Here's some pointers on identifying those particular ones: Scaley Head Sculpin: Look at size. If it is over about 4&quo...

Re: Saltwater State park?
Well, that depends on how strong of a swimmer you are. On an ebb you will be carried toward the reef and the current will be slowing throughout the dive, all good things. You should be fine, but keep in mind that it is a LONG swim so any amount of current will eventually get tiring if it isn't coope...

Deception Pass Guide
I would really like to dive Deception Pass (from shore is fine, or by boat is cool too) but I would like to go with someone who has done it before and can plan it safely. I will go ANY TIME... Anyone mind being a guide?

Possession Point Fingers from shore?
Can anyone tell me if this is now accessible from shore? I heard that you can now get down there to drop off your gear. I've only ever been there from boat but from a google map it looks like you can get there from shore. Any help?

I tried them but didn't notice much difference, plus I prefer to use the "Program" mode so I can control the macro and flash settings.

Re: Agate Pass
The reason that it's done that way as a shore dive Doug is that you couldn't get out if you did it the other way. The current near the bridge is approximately twice that of the mouth. That's right. You can do it on a flood from a boat but from shore it needs to be on an ebb. This way the current is...

Do you dive on the NE side of the marina or to the SW side of it?Dusty2 wrote:My sightings are at Point Hudson in Port Townsend. They seem to like more open areas then the adults and are usually under something or in small cracks or containers not usually in the rocks where you see adults.
