Re: Cove 3 Closed?

Generally seal pup closures are temporary for as long as the pup is on the beach. Young pups will often haul out on a beach to rest & warm up while their mother is hunting in the area.

Re: Combat Diver School on Discovery

They were holding their breath while on SCUBA. I understand why, it's just a different world from the recreational classes where we require bubbles when the reg is out. I also got the impression that most of the training was not shown. In one segment they spent 9 hours learning to get their open cir...

Re: Diver finds live grenade in Puget Sound...yikes!

In reading the comments to the story, this may have been a practice grenade and not a live one. Apparently the practice grenades are blue and you can see a spot of blue under the tape near the spoon.

Blowing the tire off could have been due to the charge setup to distroy the grenade.

Re: Diver finds live grenade in Puget Sound...yikes!

Guess you could say diving in Chambers Bay is a real blast.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

It's a good thing the diver didn't pick it up to check it out.

Re: Why so combative.....?

My 2 cents... As touched on in several other posts, I think it boils down to competition for divers and their money. Some focus on getting a bigger slice of the pie believing it to be limited. If everyone collaborated we could all have a bigger pie. Unfortunately when one organization goes down the ...

Re: Dive at Muk Oil Dock

I have had my power inflator have a slow leak before, both on my suit and on my BC (not at the same time). It can happen when you get crud or salt crystals in the o-rings. Either a good rinse or ripping it apart to check and clean/replace the o-rings was the fix. I have also had my power inflate st...

Jana,

There are several on the site review on The Perfect Dive. I know Jeremy is going over there this week. I will let him know about the need for photos.

Re: Eggs At Les Davis

We also saw several large ling cod egg masses at Three Tree South side last Friday. They were in the tires and on the cabin cruiser. One was mature enough to see the embryos moving inside the individual eggs.

Derelict to Reef?

I read the article below today on derelict ships and the money the state spends on them to clean up and scrap them. http://www.komonews.com/news/problemsolvers/60837727.html My question: Some of these seem like they would be cool dive sites if they could be properly prepared. I would like to see the...

Re: NEW Saltwater State Park dive map by Chevayea

It is a fairly long swim of about 2.5 football fields (800 plus feet) to the bouys on the shallow side (20' deep) of the new reef fingers. There is a stream that dumps in at the park and has created a small delta over geologic time. It is very shallow for a long ways out at this site. If you don't l...
