Whitespotted Greenling on eggs
Found this guy just outside of the Dolphin at Harper's. We've seen tons of these guys around that area before, but we never got a picture of them. When I landed on the bottom and he swam off I figured it was just another missed pic. Then he came right back at me and as I looked close at the kelp he'...

Re: Sneaking In
Dive at Harper's yesterday revealed quite a few things. Not only did we find a Whitespotted greenling guarding what looked to be about four or five egg masses (Each a different color :dontknow: ) but these couple of pictures later showed some stowaways trying to get in on the photo goods lol Here, I...

Sorry to burst your bubble, Jed, but anyone can do it. I don't even have photoshop and this took me twenty minutes. Time won't deter those who want the picture badly enough.

Re: Little green guy
Dang... We were all hoping for something new. Thanks for the help, you two.
On the bright side we DID see something new to us yesterday. We've tentatively IDed it as a Pacific Cod.

Little green guy
Found this little green guy at Edmond's Oil Dock today around 10fsw. He was about 6 or 7 inches long and has us completely baffled. Our first thought was a Penpoint, but his face is all the wrong shape, plus the horizontal line through his eye is something we've never seen before on one of them. We'...

Re: BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!!!!!
Well the vid was shot more for location. I had tried to take a picture, but it was too far back so the pic came out dark and it was too hard to see the ciona. As for my ID, I'm positive that's what it is. The siphons were uneven and the yellow spots were a dead giveaway. I couldn't see its body to g...

The Disc Top is something completely different. I saw a few of those on the shallower boat. Thanks for the ID Greg.

Re: BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD!!!!!
I got a pretty good look at it, it's definitely ciona. And as we were leaving, I noticed that the opposite end of the boiler is big enough that someone small could fit in with maybe a pony bottle.

Tunicate/Sponge/Eh? ID
Found this inside the Carousel Boat at Redondo the other day and also found a couple on the boat near the boiler. Any clues? They're the dome like things centered around the left side of the pic. The siphons seem to grow on the sides. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h65/chenari/Scuba%20Diving%20pi...

A couple for Leslie
First is an odd worm found at the base of the cement block holding the divers below buoy in place out at Alki Cove 2. The worm was about 4 inches long from what I first saw, maybe a couple more inches, but it was moving quickly into some sort of tube on the bottom. Here's a couple pix. http://i61.ph...

Found a Ciona savingy (SP?) inside the boiler at Redondo today. Here's a video showing its location. Thankfully only one.

Re: Few critters to ID
Anyone have a clue about the sponge? Also, here's a few others I am curious about. At first glance, the Shrimp looked like a Stiletto, but when I looked in the book to confirm, I noticed this guy has lots of Dorsal Teeth, where the book says the Stiletto is devoid of them. http://i61.photobucket.com...

Re: Few critters to ID
I thought that might be it, but I wasn't sure. And boy do we know. We've had our fair share clinging to us after dives. It was the same way with the Isopods down in Cali. Every time we went to Whaler's Cove in Point Lobos, we rarely got out with at least one of those things clinging to us.
