Cuppie, me and the JIms finished our rescue class today, and man was it fun and informative. I love diving and now i feel like i could help someone if needed. but i want to take and oxygen class, anyone know how to do that? Well, there are two DAN instructors that I know of on this board ... me and...

That's a nice crinoid Dave. Kgdiver, the torus is very nice. I was amazed at how stable it was and how well you could move with it. I haven't dived another singles wing, but according to Bob the torus is one of his (if not the) favorite. I'd take him up on the offer to give it a try, prior to buyin...

It was great meeting everyone. Cheng and I had a great time ... and Cheng said this is the friendliest dive club she's ever seen. Huge thanks to John for the presentations ... as always, interesting and informative. And even HUGER thanks to Calvin for coordinating and hosting the get-together. Cheng...

After using my drysuit for buoyancy control for about 600 dives, I decided to try doing it the other way. I found that when I put minimal air in my drysuit (just enough to relieve the squeeze) and used my BCD more, I had far better overall buoyancy control. I could orient myself vertically without f...

I know I probably have some work to do w/ trim, etc. and I've never dived with a pony, but I recently remembered how much I like diving singles. To me, it's like driving a sportscar again after driving a truck around (the doubles). What usually takes two pushes from both fins to spin me around can ...

I don't know how well they rinse it. To solve the problem I think you would need to remove the pin after every dive. I'll ask Dave D tonight. Dave, Gray, and I are diving the Mukilteo Oil dock for crab around 8pm, your welcome to join us. Thanks, but I'm taking a deco day ... I'm diving Lake Washin...

Do they take the unit apart and clean it? If so, how often?Jeff Kruse wrote:The few people I know who have the quick draw bracket complain about the pins freezing solid (over time) and not being able to remove the bracket.

Bob, I thought you were DIR trained? ;) Slinging a AL40 full of air is not DIR and I am a little confused at how you could recommend that or a pony bottle??? A slung bottle is great to have but the gas in it is not readily accessible. You still need to turn the bottle on and deploy the hose. Solo d...

Bob, Another set of great pics! Which was the puget sound king crab you saw on Deep Sea? The larger one, or the small - all orange one? I am especially fond of the pictures of the octopus. Where was that? Jeanna The larger one Jeanna ... the small orange one was at Keystone. We saw two of them ther...

What a week it was ...
Well, the first week of July was awesome! Started out on Saturday at Kayak Point for an early morning crab dive with Bob Lew. Didn't get too many crabs, but enough for a nice dinner ... so it was a success. Sunday was a long day as Cheng and I drove up to Anacortes and boarded the Deep Sea for a 3-t...

One other thing to mention ... this is a site that's appropriate for no more than maybe 4 divers at a time. Please don't plan a group dive here. Besides the fact that it's a residential neighborhood, there's just not adequate room on the rock for more than a few divers (four starts to get crowded, a...
