Totally agree John, and Erica and I have that same deal. I'll honor it was anyone as I expect them to do for me. You gut is not wrong, and even if it was... you're not harmed by not going. The DAN insurance thing blows me away - that people won't spend $75/year (plus my $44/year family membership). ...

Really!? I never treated a DCS case, course, I was a medic in a rural farm and golfing area of southern AZ, so I suppose there wasn't a whole lot of diving there anyway. That's an amazing number - I wouldn't have thought it to have been that high! Can you imagine if they lost cabin pressure?! As an ...

Does anyone NOT have DAN insurance???

If not, why? Check this Darwinian sh*t out: While diving in Maui last week, Erica and I were on a boat with 4 other divers. One set of buddies (2 guys from LA, both with AOW certs) mentioned they were flying out late that evening... right after we completed our second dive at 9:30am!!! They weren't ...

Yeah, I think it would make a tighter group too. That way we also keep a grip on how many people we actually have... as of now, we know we have had just over 100 people register. I'd guess there are about 20-25 people who are active. My 2 psi worth is to keep the group completely open, but if people...

I think that's smart for now - the more members we have the more policing we have to do. On the flip side, it'd be cool to have a bunch of good people here. Calvin - how many people are actively participating versus how many just logged in a once, twice, or a couple times and aren't really "inv...

Yeah, I know. I tried to move the date, but people weren't willing to change their plane reservations, their lodging, etc. The nerve! :angryfire: Fortunately, I have the legendary Bill Walker :prayer: to share the story with me until I can see all the pictures and hear the story at the same time. I'...

Maui Diving Honeymoon!

Hey everyone! Maui was amazing – pictures will be posted soon! The highlight was a toss-up between diving with several white-tipped and gray reef sharks at “Molokini Crater” and diving with 100+ turtles at “5 Caves!” In addition to that, the rays, fish, eels, and other marine life were all simply am...

No, not him - but I'll share with whom sometime in person. I thought it was a mighty fine quote myself. There was a passionate discussion as to what gasses were better to decompress with at what depths, blah blah blah - way over my head. Then I heard him say, when someone mentioned they'd NEVER deco...

Hey! If they keep that up, we might have a great new drift dive site!!! If nothing else, we could collect stuff - it'd be like Christmas!!! How deep is it below the narrows anyway? I'm totally ignorant - is it really deep, closed-circuit only, or what?

As soon as we get back from Hawaii (mid-July) we'll be putting our gear together and will be ready to start diving regularly come early August!!! We have a little 17' Larson bow-rider too - I'm drawing up plans to rig a flag pole for a dive flag. It's not "ideal," but it's certainly "...

John made an excellent point... I just upgraded to the "preferred plan" with DAN insurance. The last thing I need is to be in Hawaii and have an issue. $50k+ in debt wouldn't be the best way to start a marriage!!!
