Re: Dive planning question
Yes, thanks, I realized after the fact I accidentally replied in the new user section. Thanks for moving the post here. I also found DeepZoom and others matching PYD via XTide. I’ve used PYD over the years and never had too much of an issue, so I still like to use it as a reference. I like to cross ...

Dive planning question
I was wondering if people still used this site https://www.planyourdive.com/ The website looks like it maybe hasn’t been touched in years, and the website states that it uses XTide for predictions. I tried to do some research on XTide. It looks like it is an algorithm that was developed and updated ...

I should say too that the neck seal is quick replaceable. I did trim it but would be easily replaceable if you purchased it and it did not fit.

Sold: Waterproof D1 Hybrid Drysuit Size ML, undergarment, and dry glove system Portland Area
Now Sold. Thanks. It’s a men’s ML. Suit, suspenders, undergarment, Si Tech Antares cuff system included! Excellent to Like new condition. I bought this suit new in Summer 2017 and dove it about 20 times, all in the Puget Sound. I was always very warm in this suit. The overall condition of the suit i...

Re: Wet suits for the sound
When I moved to the Northwest I used a wetsuit for a few dives. The problem really is the surface interval. It's difficult to stay warm. With a drysuit you will be much more comfortable after exiting the water. Also, I drive from Portland to the Sound so another benefit of staying warm is that I'm m...

Re: RE: Re: Dry glove system on neoprene wrist seals?
If the neo seal is 3mm or thinner and flexible you can use an OS system on it. The way the Kubi is 'normally' used is pretty similar to the OS, just a bit more elegant. You need to turn the sleeve inside out, position the cuff ring inside, apply a strong O-ring to the groove, then turn it back outs...

Re: Dry glove system on neoprene wrist seals?
That is a nice video, thank you. I'm not sure I would like to have a neoprene wrist seal and then a latex seal on top of that.
Do you still use the Sitech system? Would you be able to post a photo? Especially if it shows the area you mention regarding it being permanently crushed.

Re: Dry glove system on neoprene wrist seals?
By over-seal I mean latex over-seal as discussed on this page https://m.simplyscuba.com/products/Kubi ... ystem.aspx
I'm actually not sure what an over-seal looks like.

Dry glove system on neoprene wrist seals?
Does anyone have any experience with diving a dry glove system on a suit with neoprene wrist seals? My two questions are: 1) which dry glove systems can be installed on a suit with neoprene wrist seals (without requiring the use of an 'over-seal')? And 2) have you found them to be reliable? I've don...

Do divers ever see these or do they mainly inhabit more marshy areas and estuaries as the article states?

Re: Bubbles & Suds I-90 Bridge Edition 5/11/16
Last night we decided to head south to Seattle and dive the sunken I-90 bridge. We had a really good turn out with beautiful weather and soupy vis. I got separated in the near zero vis so I headed South and explored all of the construction 'leftovers' and treasure hunted to 105ft for a bit before t...

Orca Pod in Hood Canal at Octopus Hole (5/8)
I had heard that an Orca pod was seen in Hood Canal. I didn't expect to see them on our dive at Octopus Hole Sunday (5/8) but we got lucky. While we were gearing up a group of 3 Hoodsport locals pulled over with binoculars and told us they were heading this way. We saw them at about 9:30 a.m. swimmi...

Jayson, check out the Oregon scuba club. We meet the first Thursday every month at the round table pizza near Aquatic Sports. Unfortunately you would have just missed May's meeting.

Re: Strongest currents
Second dive of the day at Netarts Bay. Became separated from buddy immediately and had to hold on to the rocks to stay in place. It took about 10 minutes to cover about the same amount of area as the first five which took 30. I learned that you can only get about one good dive in at Netarts and I le...

Longtime reader, first time poster
I've been reading the forum off and on for a few years but never had an account until now. Member of a few dive clubs in the Portland area. Averaging about 70 dives per year since moving to the area. I look forward to continuing learning from the divers here!
