Re: Lake Crescent East Beach Scuba Access finally answered!

Thank you for doing the research on this topic. I'm way late replying but I was doing some spring cleaning and came across the official National Park Service written Warning Notice I received last June for diving at East Beach. It wasn't an actual citation but it was made clear to me that it could h...

Lost mask at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park!

Hi all. The Emerald Sea Dive Club was conducting a Rescue course at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park over the weekend, and one of our members lost his mask on the beach Saturday, 8/13. A woman who identified herself as a fellow diver apparently found it and approached a different group that was there for a ...

Found weight belt in Cove 1

I came across a pouch-style weight belt last Sunday (6/19) while diving in Cove 1. It was right next to the pipe and looks like it may have been used for a class. Provide me with a matching description and I will reunite you! :)

Mukilteo Parks & Arts Commission vacancy!

For those fine folks among us who live in Mukilteo, just wanted to pass along a potentially great opportunity to serve on their Parks & Arts Commission. As you may recall, they were the guiding force behind park rule changes that nearly excluded us from diving at Lighthouse Park, but were then s...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

A conflicting commitment is going to keep me from attending tonight's meeting, but my wife Pam will be there in my place. Looking forward to hearing how it goes! Thanks everyone for your support and efforts. :smt038

Re: Larrabee State Park (WA) - Anyone dove there?

Thanks much for the reply. It looks like a very nice park but unless I can find out anything else about diving there, I guess we'll try elsewhere. Your other suggestions are definitely under consideration. I'll post again if I do get any info.

Larrabee State Park (WA) - Anyone dove there?

I'd like to consider taking the family somewhere different this year for a local camp & dive weekend. Has anyone dove at Larrabee State Park, up near Bellingham? The parks website says scuba is popular there, but I can't find a single dive review or any further information about it. :dontknow: C...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

I have to put in a shameless plug for the Emerald Sea Dive Club at this point as well (http://www.emeraldseadiveclub.org/). We have had the pleasure of working with the city of Redondo for several years now with their critter collections during their summer interpretive beach walks, and we would lov...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

Thanks for your summary, John. I have nothing really to add to it! It was great to see how drastically the tide shifted last night and I was really encouraged by how supportive the commission (and previously, the city council) has become. I do hope they can follow through on their desire to become a...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

IMPORTANT UPDATE! The Mukilteo Parks & Arts Commission meeting is still set for tonight, Thursday, April 2nd, at 7pm at city hall, HOWEVER ... In reviewing the Mukilteo City Council's extended agenda listing (http://www.ci.mukilteo.wa.us/files/doc-council%20ext%20agenda.pdf), the issue of divin...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

"Ditto" on everyone else's comments! ;-) It was great seeing such a huge turnout and I really appreciate the speaking efforts of John Rawlings, Janna Nichols, Mike Racine and Mike with Dive Xtras. I also appreciate your commitment to the dive community in traveling so far to make sure we w...

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

I've definitely spread the word through the Emerald Sea Dive Club and am hopeful a few of our members can make it to the meeting. I'll be sending out a reminder to them over the weekend. It has been awesome to read all the responses and to see so many responding to this call for action!

Re: Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

Thanks to everyone for their responses. It's great to read how passionate everyone is about our sport in general as well as this particular site, and it's also good to know I didn't just totally miss it. Sounds like the new rule closing the park to shore diving is news to everyone. Lighthouse Park i...

Mukilteo Lighthouse Park - NO diving?

I was reading the February 2009 issue of Northwest Dive News and came across something that was definitely news to me. You may already know that Mukilteo's Lighthouse Park has been undergoing major renovations since 2007, with Phase 1 having just recently been completed. Well, apparently that called...
