Re: Porthole Dive Charters closing up shop

I feel the need to make a few more comments after reading the latest treads. Fisrt; why I was in the charter business. It started as a way to pay for my hobbie. I never intended to live off the income or really make an income. My plan was to provide a means to take people and myself to the places ot...

Re: Porthole Dive Charters closing up shop

Hello to all, I have been reading the posts but have been unable to successfully log on until now. Thanks for all your kind words. It has been a rocky road since we took delivery of the MARK V. I have enjoyed the years of chartering and it strange to watch it all go away. Many are asking to hear it ...

Re: What's up with Porthole?

Hey Mike, I wondered what the scoop was! I keep hearing things and am glad you came out to tell it 'from the horse's mouth' so to speak. To everyone - this is a great dive boat - based out of West Seattle - one you should experience! Here's our gang on the boat this past summer out at Neah Bay: htt...

What's up with Porthole?

I spent the weekend in Tacoma and had the same question asked of me several times, so I figured I should set the record straight. By the way,Viz is improving in the south sound as of Sunday KVI and Barges 15+. We are operating at full capacity again after our nightmare's with the new boat delivery. ...

Exploration trip Port Angeles to Neah Bay 8/17/08

I am moving the Mark V to Neah Bay on Sunday. Am looking for some strong divers with an interest in exploration to make the journey. This is a cost sharing trip and not a charter. Compressors are working and we have tanks aboard. We are attempting to arrange transportation from Neah Bay back to Port...

Porthole is Back!!! :occasion5: An agreement has been signed that will allow the Mark V to be used for Charters in Neah Bay the remainder of August and all of September. Re: Thank you from Porthole

Today the silence was broken between Armstrong Marine and Portole Dive Charters as Armstrong requested a meeting between all parties. Both sides were represented by attorney's and the meeting was productive but no solution was agreed upon. However; the fact that offers have been tabled will give opp...

Just an update. I have been off line for a while.I am still juggling all that is taking place. Neah Bay is closed for any new charters or unscheduled trips. I am trying to accomadate those who have aleady booked a trip. The problem is that we had booked both boats throughout the summer. The Dash has...

Re: Thank you from Porthole

With another weekend approaching, no good news has been delivered. We have had to cancel our weekend at the Diamond Knot yet losing another weekend of income and disrupting the plans of our valued customers and friends. The manufacture hasn't yet responded to a letter sent by our attorney. We are no...

Hi Mike! I had no idea...guess I've been out of the loop for a few weeks here. You must be tearing your hair out at this point - here's hoping you're able to get well-qualified help to iron out the mess and get up and running doing what you love. - Janna :) Well if I had hair to pull out :rr: Thank...

Re: Thank you from Porthole

I know that my friends and I are going to support you in your time of need. The exhaust issue sounds to me like a nail in the coffin for Armstrong but I'm not the most legal savvy guy out there. My club is planning a trip with you in July to Neah Bay, sounds like you have a temp fix in place that s...

Re: Thank you from Porthole

So the story, as told in pieces already, is that the Mark V is back in dry dock again. We have been suffering through many issues since our first weekend of operation. Some small, such as heaters not functioning, then some more major such as compressor/nitrox operation or lack of operation, and boat...

Thank you from Porthole

Over the last three days I have recieved encouraging e-mails, phone calls, and was directed to the kind words being written on this board. Thank You!!! We certainly needed the smiles they brought. I love this sport and love its people and hope after the dust settles we will still be a part of it. I ...
