Re: The 'donde on Saturday?

Ron, it would be great to meet other "Oregon" divers, so I guess maybe another reason to dive the 'donde!

My nephew is competing Sectional swim meet in Federal Way this weekend, so we are looking at diving near there.

Santa Cruz CA got hit...I am watching live news feed (why work anyway?) and the marina's there just got hammered, boats upside down...and many still moving at pace for the entrance of the marina and out to sea....

for sale: oceanic oean pro bcd

Selling Funkydiver's BCD (he is busy at work right now and won't notice until he tries going diving again :taco: ). It is a black, mens large BCD made by Oceanic, Ocean Pro model with integrated weights. Less than a year old and less than 30 dives on it. Still in fabulous condition, asking $250 or ...

Re: My One Buoyancy Issue

Your reference to using ankle weights (for three years?!) led me to the belief that you hadn't had benefit of working with someone to perfect your weighting. The only time I've actually seen people using ankle weights are when they are first learning to use their drysuit. I learned to dive with ank...

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! Club Dive! September 18th!

On another subject....some fabulous man (Grateful) loaned me his backplate at my first club dive a few years ago....and nowi dive one. Does anyone have a bp/w (and weight harness or pockets) that funkydiver could try out? He was insistent he didn't want bp when he started diving in january, but now ...

DAN O2 provider class in Portland/Vancouver area

After my recent "fun" with O2 and a hyperbaric chamber...funkydiver and I are getting O2 certified. Wylerbear (Georgia Arrow) is going to teach the DAN O2 provider class (I think affiliated with Seven Seas in vancouver). We haven't picked a date yet (there is one on the 19th, but it is a P...

I didn't see that Funkydiver RSVP'd for us yet....so, yea, we are coming. As usual, will have a spare pair of force fins if someone wants to try them. As for foodage? No idea, I am sure it will be a spur of the moment thing right as we start to pull into the parking lot, we will back out of it and h...

that's another thing that bothers me too. if you're going to tell me something is ready by a certain day, that's when i will come pick it up. if it's not ready, let me know. i don't drive 2 hours to get to the shop i usually deal with, but the 20-30 minutes is annoying enough when they don't have t...

Re: What do you want to see in your dive shop?

Although LCF said she doesn't need shop dives.... I think they are great! I may come into the shop to talk to them about club/shop dives. And while there...I impulse buy! I may only spend $10...but it was $10 I wasn't going to spend if I wasn't going there. But I have been known to spend $100 on &qu...

The only thing I don't like about my suit is that I am not quite strong enough to pull the zipper up over my shoulder to fully open it, and I have really long arms for a good reach...but alas, it takes muscle strength to go with the monkey arms. :smt064 This, too, shall pass ... dry zippers are alw...

diving from Portland

I am trying to talk the Browns (KTB and Derrick) into coming to Portland to dive. I will check the flows to see when they are releasing for the Big Cliff Drift Dive as well (outside Salem, on the Santiam River). But what are some distances to dive sites from Portland to coast sites? Anyone want to g...

Re: The eternal question: what should I buy? (Ranting +Drysu

I spent more than a year dithering about my new suit purchase. I had a drysuit (Whites Search and Rescue trilam)that is 13 years old and it was getting some leaks that as soon as you repair one..another one pops up. Incessantly! So I talked to many people I dove with over the year about what they li...
