Re: Please Help With Cruise Ship Diving

The boat offers excursions but it's priced at about $120/person for two tank "boat dives". I'd hate to be stuck with some knuckleheads who last got certified in 1996 and this is their first dive since then, kicking up the bottom and sucking through gas at record speeds... That's why I was ...

Please Help With Cruise Ship Diving

Hey guys, I've been taking a break from diving around here since the "rescue" I was involved with about a year ago. My girlfriend and I are doing a Celebrity Cruise on the 19th and our destinations include: Day 4 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Docked Arrive 7:00 AM Depart 6:00 PM Day 5 Basse...

Re: On spearfishing....

Hey Cindy! I have a 36' yacht I would be happy to donate my time and my boat if you want to re-organize another event for this year...We could have at least 12 divers on the boat. They can send all the nasty PM's and threats they want this way with no fear of you loosing your boat or the event... I...

I would give it a shot but it's 2 inches too short.

Where are all the "that's what she said" comments?

Re: Shipping tanks...

I know drop shipping is used a lot of times for things like weight equipment but I'm not sure if you can qualify for the rates or exactly how that works since it usually has to do with direct shipment to end user from the factory.

Those seem like a gimmick product to me. That little rubber connector in the middle looks fragile.

Yup, but it's been returned to the rightful owner... I am somewhat impressed that you can leave a couple grand worth of stuff sitting along side the road for hours, half of that in the dark, and nobody messes with it. They got lucky I've seen homeless people go through bins looking for wallets befo...

1 uses 3W led on aa batteries
2 uses 5W led on 2d batteries
3 uses high driven 5w led on rechargeable batteries
4 identical to 3 but uses the 123 or whatever they're called

Re: Oriskany Sunk Deeper: Safer or Not?

I've been close to 130 on EAN locally. I don't get a panic narc, I get really, really calm, and I check my SPG a lot. I don't know if I actually get some narrowed field of vision or not, cause it's always so flippin' dark down there in the sound. So if the question is would I do that same dive on a...

Re: Oriskany Sunk Deeper: Safer or Not?

I voted no... but only because we're talking "dive" and not "bounce dive". In theory yes you can drop down on the deck check it out then start your ascent. That's not really much of a "dive"... I wouldn't have a problem doing this with an HP130 I think you have what abo...

Re: "rebreather for sport divers"

I'd give it a try ...good dive buddy skills are a decent measure of safety. So even if there's a malfunction with this thing just share some air. Although, I'm more worried about going hypoxic than OoA.

I ordered a Raider III from Matt last night. So I'm excited to get mine and test it out. I'm NOT happy to hear that OxyCheq is still having switch issues. I thought they would have resolved that by now.

Re: "rebreather for sport divers"

So I'm not sure exactly how this all works but let's say for the sake of the argument I'm "magically" at 60 feet... How long can I stay there (magically not worrying about deco) if I'm "magically" back on land. What I'm trying to figure out in case you can't tell is how long can ...

A better idea ...make one that works with the iPhone and actually get's signal ...maybe you have to shoot a bag with an antena or something that would be nice on a deco stop for some of you guys. " You: Hello who's this? Dive Buddy: It's the guy back on the boat drinking beer while you still ha...

Re: Truck for a dive vehicle: What is your Pick?

Stu, nice find! That's pretty neat! I didn't know Scuba Steve had a crime fighting vehicle. ...concept cars are pretty cool to look at. I mean I'd never own that thing and I would qualify as one of those "divers" they're probably appealing to. It would be neat to see if some of those stora...
