Camera For Sale

I've got a camera for sale with lots of goodies. Everything works fine. I've just stepped up a little with my equipment. September trip to Maui

I just posted this in the "Dive Planning" index and then saw "Dive Recaps & Trip Reports" I thought it was more fitting here. Sorry for the double post. Not trying to spam up the place. I've started my blog posts about Maui. Check out the blog here - http://neutralbuoyancy.bl...

Florida Keys Review

I just got back from the Florida Keys. We did some diving off Marathon on reefs, the Thunderbolt and some diving out of Key West on the Vandenberg. The oil slick hasn't made it there yet. Go now. Support those poor dive operators down there. People keep canceling on them. Anyway I've been doing some...

Yeah and my pictures are just a taste of what you see. If you only do one or two dives try to go to Palancar.

Re: Playa Del Carmen

I just got back from there. I also recommend German Yanez of Yucatech. He is very experienced, just look at the Yucatech website. http://www.yucatech.net/yucatechmain.htm First time I was there we stayed in Akumal and rented a car which was very useful for driving to to and from the airport, to Play...

Cozumel Critters

I just got back from Cozumel. While our dive guide was pointing out sea horses I noticed these. Can anyone tell me what they are?Image

Re: I got narced today!

I never thought I was narced until I read this topic. Now I'm 90% sure I got the "anxiety" narc while doing one of my AOW dives in the Saskatchewan. I don't remember which day/dive it was (we did 2, on Saskatchewan, the over the weekend) but I would bet it was the second. I had a headache ...

Re: Spare air....

Thank you for all your replies. I think you've sold me on keeping the octo on the primary tank and going with a complete set up for the pony. Pony, reg, SPG. Never thought of the risk of dropping a pony while deploying either. I think I'll skip the whole deployment thing. With that I release my hi-j...

Re: Spare air....

Wow! I didn't expect so many replies so soon. From Sounder - I would "sling" the pony bottle rather than "mount" it on your tank. How is this done? Is it slung like a bike messenger bag/purse over the shoulder or is the sling attached to the front/side of the BC somewhere? Pictur...

Re: Spare air....

I'm going to slightly hi-jack this column and divert for a minute from specifically 'spare air' to pony tanks. I don't feel too bad about this seeing all the crazy directions it's been so far. I plan on picking up a pony as a back up, redundant, air source. There are a few things I'm torn about. 1) ...

Cozumel/Akumal/Cenote

We just did a one week trip down to the Yucatan and I've been posting about it on my blog. Although I'm not done with the whole trip yet all the diving is posted. I went into quite a bit of detail about the whole thing, dive operators, boats, guides, etc should anyone be interested. http://neutralbu...

Battlestar Galactica/atomospheres/pressure/hyperbaric

Ok ok maybe I should be posting this in the general scuba discussion but it is sort of a knowledge question. So I was watching the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica last night. Two people in the show were trapped in a compartment that was rapidly losing air/pressure. The only way they could be ...

If she can dive here in this murk, she can do a cavern cenote dive. And yes if you can get over to Cozumel. I truly enjoyed diving on the mainland off Akumal but Cozumel was better. There are dive shops everywhere down there. If you have a little time, be choosy about one. We saw some great stuff ju...

Of course I can't really include myself. Next week I'm going to Mexico to dive. HAH!

Sad. It sounds like they were pulled up to quickly. It's unfortunate they didn't release their own weights when their uncontrolled decent started. I read a lot of articles about dive accidents and most of the time the divers are found with their weights still on them. It makes me wonder if, in a pan...

Natural. Yeah I think I'm pretty confident with that answer. I grew up in Arizona. My parents have had a house with a pool since I was in the first grade. My friends all had pools. We swam for hours on end, all summer long. Played a lot of "Marco Polo". I never really learned to do the tra...
