Strobe Lights and White Balance

Several weeks ago my Canon S90 Ikelite housing and Fantasea Remora strobe light came back from the manufacturers and I have been testing them since then. From my understanding the strobe light is supposed to have the same spectrum as daylight. However I noticed that it produces a yellow cast on the ...

Re: My video on PBS

 Watch for me Monday evening on the PBS station KBTC (available in most of Puget Sound region). They did a half-hour episode about my underwater video work. It's called " The World Below " and I'm told it will air at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov 1 . But double check your local listing M...

Re: Diving Port Townsend this weekend?

After all it was a good think that nobody showed up! I enjoyed the shallow dives but I understand that others may find them boring. Well at least I have learned something: I was looking at the wrong current chart! ;)

Re: Port Townsend Halloween Dives

Thank you very much Dusty2. Now I understand better what was wrong! I guess what 'fooled' me is the fact that even in the chart that we use the speed of the current was lower than 1 kt, but then, as you mentioned, one has to take into account the particular topography of the site and how that change...

Sorry we missed you. Your timing must have been off just the right amount. Next time you plan to dive Hudson drop me a line and I'll give you the proper times. It is not a site to do impromptu. It can get really nasty if you don't get your timing right. We had a lady columnist from one of the dive ...

Port Townsend Halloween Dives

I did no see Dusty2 at Port Townsend. My buddy and I got there on Friday evening, the day with best weather and water conditions. On Saturday the south-east wind began to blow making the entry near Hudson Point a bit problematic. My buddy did not want to go in, I would have mind giving it a try. Afte...

Re: Diving Port Townsend this weekend?

Fort Worden Campground has 3 camp sites left. Reservation is $ 8 and the site $25 for one night. I could not make reservations for the ferry so I won't reserve a campsite at Fort Worden. We will take our chances. There is no guarantee that we would get on the ferry, but it is seems unlikely, however...

At the Keystone Jetty, I am having more luck finding juvenile PS King crabs then the Scaly crabs, they hide from me inside the Plumose anemone forest. This youngster was for some reason out in open, away from them. It seems to me that it is easier to spot them at night. During the latest night dive...

Turtle fins only come in 2 sizes. Big & bigger. I like mine even though I have small feet. I dont know about cave diving but they are real nice for Frog kicking. I'm not much of a flutter kicker. I'm looking at your map & wondering if you hit the shallow wall only or both the shallow & ...
