Re: hood canal O2 impacts

Has anyone done the north end of Hood Canal recently? Brinnon Pinnacle or further north? Are fish noticably O2 stressed in this area right now (Late June 2010) Dove Pinnacle a week ago. The only thing I have noticed differently, which may not be all that unusual, is finding a few Vermillion in the ...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Point Hudson this morning 5 to 10ft. :vom:
But, the critters were out. All the usual suspects plus 2 gpo's in the Jetty. The Canary's are back as well. Even with bad vis, this site rarely disappoints for critter sightings.

Re: Get Well Soon, Don!!!!

Just a quick update on Don's condition; he is back in Pleasant Harbor resting comfortably. Unfortunately he will be out of action for the next several months. The boat is back in Pleasant Harbor as well. Pacific Adventure Charters continues on with yours truly at the helm. I have been diving with Do...

That's for sure.

Did you see them on the Knuckle or on your 2nd dive on the shallow reef?

You bet Kelly.
He has all his gadgets (laptop, iPhone etc) close at hand so I am sure he will be keeping everyone updated.
Also, the injury turned out to be a compound fracture of the Tibia & Fibula just above the ankle.

Re: Get Well Soon

On Monday evening I received a text from Don wanting to get together for a bite to eat as he was just finishing up working on Down Time for the day. Shortly after I responded to his text, I received a call from my wife who heard on the radio that there was a 55 year old man who fell off a ladder in ...

I wonder if any bales sank . . . Doesn't sound like it. "Agents aboard the patrol boat plucked out of the water eight bundles of marijuana weighing about 68 pounds each." Article from PDN: http://peninsuladailynews.com/article/20100602/news/306029992/what-happens-next-to-alleged-canadian-...

This is why I don't ever have to buy a descent camera. I can simply enjoy your work.
It almost looks like the Black Rock fish has it's fin around the Sculpin.

Very cool and Thank you!

Female Wolfeel looking for her home

Because of "other" duties and a stuffy head, it's been almost 3 weeks since I have hit the water. I was finally able to dive Sunday and the plan was to visit Flagpole. We had two superb dives on the Knuckle. There was a muck layer down to 40 then, as it usually does, it opened nicely from ...

Uh huh, yep...... I can totally relate. I won't bore with details about prior hardcore hook & line addictions but for me to pass up a perfectly good speargun and pole spear I found at the Waadah fingers a couple weeks ago was the indicator that I was pretty much done. ...if(I stress if)I get an...

Re: Neah Bay day trip 4-23

Hi Chad.

Waadah Fingers. If you are familiar with how the Fingers run, it's located on the 1st or 2nd ridgetop from the Southwestern most end in 50 to 60fsw. There was also a 6 or 7ft Pole-Spear lying in close proximity.

I didn't scoop them up. They are still there for the taking.

Neah Bay day trip 4-23

Although, it can be a long day, an advantage to living on the Olympic Peninsula is that you can do Neah Bay as a day trip. Currents looked good for Friday so I kept a close eye on the weather all week. Forecast didn't look crazy good but good enough to give it a shot so we went. We ended up with ver...

Today was my first trip to Flagpole since assisting with the installation of the WSA mooring buoy. Sorry for the poor photo quality but does anyone know what's on this guys back? Some type of fungas maybe? He seemed pretty lively when I started getting too close.
