Re: Fellow Divers, I need your help

Strangely, diving has never struck me as a sport that requires fitness. I don't think I'll be able to make it to your presentation but I would be interested to hear your reasoning. Maybe you'd be interested in starting a thread topic about it here on NWDC for those of us who can't attend the dive E...

Thank you, all your points are excellent and the last one is tremendous but seldom touched as it gets rather controversial. I'll definitely bring it up and thank you again.

Re: Fellow Divers, I need your help

Excellent topic Bob! That is a significant topic and confusing topic in the fitness community and I will be more than happy to add it to my presentation. Thank you so much.

Any other ideas? Much appreciated!

Fellow Divers, I need your help

What is up ladies and gents! As you know, the dive and travel expo is around the corner and excitment is building up. Looking forward to meeting many of you there. I will be presenting a seminar on Saturday April 9th at 4:00 pm. The topic is " Fitness and the Diver, why we love it and how to lo...

Re: My first movie

Cool! Thanks for posting, loved it! It reminds of my trip a few years ago. I absolutely LOVED the diving and in a couple of them we did superman-flight style diving in the current, that was so much fun! The only turn off were the peddlers on the surface bugging you every corner, but other than that,...

Re: Down the memory line

This material is coffee table worthy! Well produced, entertaining, AND informative, all the makings of a good book. This is the kind of book many divers would love to have in their travel bag for their in-flight reading, sure you do not want to publish it? Thanks so much for sharing Jan.

Re: Prednisone and diving

Usually, the biggest issue with prednisone is the condition for which it is prescribed. But some people do experience mood swings with steroids, particularly with higher doses. These can include euphoric or irritability, both of which might affect judgment and safety underwater... Prednisone is in ...

Re: Viz Reports Wanted

Different stuff growing now, almost like a red tide as opposed to the stringy snot we were diving in a week ago. Hmm, makes me think... Did a dive yesterday at Rockaway Beach, Bainbridge Island. Went on high tide. Wind was kicking and water was choppy. Visibility 2 to 5 feet. Did not change AT all ...

oooh sure... make the new guy carry all yer stuff to the water's edge and then bust him? So you were referring to Bob when you mentioned the diving bullies... Ohhh, that makes sense! :) That's why he's always looking for new buddies! Fresh meat to haul his gear! All kidding aside, thanks very much ...

Re: uuuhhh... Coach?

I consider anyone who plans a dive with an excessive pre-dive exercise plan as a compulsive leader who doesn't plan. 300 yards? HUH??? It is all relative. Like I mentioned before, it is in a quarry with calm water, and to be honest, we would not consider it excessive exercise as the swim feels, wel...

Remember: we have currents here, and the water moves (especially on the surface). I can walk further on a flat plane than up a hill. (Of course I can’t even seem to walk down hill without effort, so that’s all relative) :dontknow: True, that's an EXCELLENT point. I remember how stiff the currents w...

Norrander's reef is a great dive. A small reef, but every inch was covered in life. There are two other dives there that are usually done as boat dives, because they are a bit of a surface swim, but you can do Metridium Wall without too much work. At low tide you would actually walk halfway there. ...

Yo Coach ... We GOTTA get together when you're here. I'm not too familiar with what's on the "overseas" side of the Sound, as I rarely get over there. But I'll look into it and let ya know. Any idea what dates you'll have available for diving? Current charts are a must around these parts ...

Greetings fellow bubble blowers. As many of you know, I have been crossing Puget Sound quite a few times in my business trips from NJ. I cannot tell you what a cruel tease it is to see all that magnificent water aboard the Ferry and not have any gear on me. I will finally get my chance to splash the...
