imprompto San Diego trip
I have a business trip to San Diego next week and am thinking about schlepping down some gear and trying to fit in some shore dives in the evenings. I posted over on DMX but I was wondering if anybody here had suggestions for locating lead/tanks and a buddy.

I assume that this isn't from around here. Is this territorial aggression, breading, or something else? Worth watching regardless.

PST E9791 tanks
I have an opportunity to buy some PST HP120 tanks produced under the E9791 special use exception. I see lots of FUD on the boards in 2006 before the permit expired. Has getting E9791 tanks hydroed or filled turned out to be an issue? I would love a set of HP120 tanks but I don't want o throw money d...

I am up for a tank or two Sunday morning. Got to be at a function in Tukwilla at 13:00 though so Alki on South would be better for me.

Re: Dry suit gaitors
So I finally made a dive tonight at the Alki Junkyard with my new Gators and I am loving them. I also realized that I could reposition the top cam band on my Zeagle BC allowing me to lower my tank 2.5" significantly improving my trim without adding any weight. I finally was able to roll shoulde...

Possible Improvments at Langley
A blog post pointed me to an article about the new harbor master at Langley on Whidbey Is. The Port of South Whidbey has taken over operation of the marina and has apparently begun making improvements and catching up on deferred maintenance. There may be an opportunity to get some enhancements to ma...

Dry suit gaitors
I just made my fourth dry suit dive today. Most things are working well and I am enjoying being warm and dry. I am diving a USIA shell suit with attached boots, a heavy undergarment, a Si-Tech shoulder dump open all the way, and no ankle weights. I am diving with minimal air in the suit adding air t...

Re: can light mounting on Zeagle Tech
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried several configurations last night. I didn't like the can on the cam-band behind the wing or slung from the cam bands in front of the wing. I tried using quick links to attach it to existing hardware on the waist straps but didn't like how it worked out. I ended up...

Re: Three Tree N. night dive W/ Scuba Scott!
I dove TTN this afternoon and paused to take a photo of the posted sign.
Rule #1 seems to be pretty clear to me but anybody can take their chances.

can light mounting on Zeagle Tech
So I got a Halcyon 10W HID to play with. Right now I am diving a Zeagle Tech. Anybody got a bright idea on where to stick the can?
I am thinking about trying to mount it between the bladder and the waist/coverbund.

Bookmark this URL http://seattle.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=scuba and use it to search Craig's List several times a day. Right now there are $150 LP-95, and $200 HP100/HP120 tanks available if you are willing to drive a bit. Otherwise it I am sure that your LDS would appreciate some biz. Craig'...

I have been trying to meet up and have a look at it. Anything I should know about Halcyon lights? Batteries look to be sealed lead acid that I can get though industrial vendors cheap.

Re: Diving Resolutions
Well I let around 14 hours of the new year pass before my first ever OW dive in a dry suit. This year I want to take a nitrox class fairly soon now that I own a couple of tanks. Some time this winter I want to take an AOW class. Finally I want to meet up with some of the folks on this board since I ...

The backup camera (for cars/trucks) that you can buy at Costco for around $70 has video inputs.

I have had work done at WhiteFab in Kent. They did a very nice repair on some stainless boat stanchions for me and seem to do a lot of aluminum and stainless work for the fishing industry.

Re: SOLAS Reflective Tape
I am a big fan of SOLAS Grade reflective tape and have used it extensively on my boating gear. I have had a poor experience with it on scuba gear. I think that 3M Scotchlite reflective tape and similar products that don't have an open cell design are probably a better bet. I applied a 4"x10&quo...
