Re: IS there an AIR rebreather?

Yes sorb is the regular "kitty litter" stuff. No real restrictions, its perfectly safe to fly with and can be shipped by most any carrier.

Re: IS there an AIR rebreather?

Getting sorb up here isn't a big deal, you just have to plan ahead cause it takes a little longer to get. Helium/O2 is the PIA shipping the bottles back n forth to Seattle takes weeks and isn't cheap.

Had EZ-loader plastic guides on the trailer I had for the Hewescraft, loved them. Wish I could use them with my plastic boat!

Re: Dry Gloves

Look at the Diving Concepts site. They have instructions on how to do it with Latex and Neoprene seals. http://www.divingconcepts.com/link3.htm You'll need to buy a set of the DC latex wrists with the O-ring on them and use those are the internal seal and they are $$$$. In the end if you want dry gl...

Re: Recreational Rebreather

I love CCR diving and admit, mine collects too much dust compared to my OC gear. OC is just easier when I'm heading out with my 15 y/o to do a purely recreational dive. It takes about 5 minutes to have OC gear ready vs. an hour for the rebreather. That said, I think there will always be a place for ...

Re: Cuke diver dies

Just to clarify - He was not a Cucumber Diver and he was not cucumber diving. The opening was 0800 and he was doing a couple fun dives before the opening. His role once 0800 rolled around was tender to the permit holder who was to be the diver. Both of these guys are/were friends of mine. John bough...

Re: Recreational Rebreather

Same here on the Kiss.

I hate it when a company does a press release on something and all they provide are computerized images. That screams of vaporware and in the rebreather industry vaporware is pretty common!

Or maybe his buddy in Juneau could throw a couple in the truck and bring them on the ferry. I think I'm sitting on a few that I will never use.

Re: Need expert advice...that's YOU guys!!

Although from an ongoing support perspective, I'm not sure I'd buy from a dive shop versus a camera specialty shop. Filters, lighting, etc are novice questions that come with a purchase. True, but you won't find many camera shops that can really answer questions about underwater photography. While ...

Dusty2 is right -- Video is big and the GOPro market is smoking hot right now. They also just released the GOPro2 and dropped the 1 down to $199 pretty good price point.

Re: Need expert advice...that's YOU guys!!

Nothing bad to say about Sealife! I've killed 5-6 of their cameras and they were always fair with replacing or upgrading them. Camera equipment is tough to stock/keep up with. The technology changes so quick, you need to be able to keep it cycling through or before you know it, you have a camera tha...

I'm sure it re-ran and was syndicated, but the final original episode did air September 23, 1961.

4 seasons 155 episodes.

Re: Port Townsed still holds treasure!

I find the idea of archeology applying to anything newer than the civil war somewhat nuts anyway. Historical significance maybe, but it's not as if we are going to discover that the people of Port Townsend or anywhere else in the US lived in a manner or were doing anything that we don't already know...

Yep, those are in my backyard. I'd be up for something but Feb is a tough time to plan a trip like that. My big boat is put away and weather can be less than nice. We got lucky that one year you were over here!

Besides February is ski season!

Show up with the absolute biggest bottle of Crown Royal you can find. A 55 gal drum would be best.

Otherwise, plan live and breathe rEvo for that week and don't plan anything else. You either won't have time or you will be way too tired.

Do what she says, learn from her and have fun with it!

Re: Just throwing this out there

My brother has an Aqualung Pearl BC that has never been wet. When I had the shop, I ordered it for his daughter (my niece) and she pitched a fit because she wanted the i3 version so he ordered her another one. I was in his garage the other day and he mentioned that he needed to sell it. Pretty sure ...
