I agree on the hard to get a decent photo bit! even if they aren't moving constantly the camera just doesn't want to focus on that delicate little head.

Great info Jan, Seems mother nature has no lack of cleanup crews! Recycling is the key word. Little if nothing goes to waste in the natural world.

Re: A eubranchus tree

It was taken at Fort Flagler on one of the pier pilings. A pretty rare sight. Usually you only see 3 or 4 at most and very well hidden at the base of the hydroid. They are very small critters indeed. The branches of that hydroid are only about 2" long at most.

I did not see any fish close, so I cannot be sure who is the artist here, but it sure looks like the Buffalo sculpin ones I saw at Langley last year... :dontknow: http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m147/Honza-01/P3304663coloredeggsS.jpg BTW - nice shots guys, hope we'll s...

A very good question indeed. This one was at Point Hudson in Port Townsend but I did two more dives the following days and did not see him again.

Re: Jana here's a new one for you

I've seen a fair number of these over the years, and am still not sure what it is. I initially thought it was a different color phase of slender cockscomb, but then the Vancouver aquarium crossed one with high cockscombs. I've seen thousands of high cockscombs intertidally over the years but never ...
