Sounder, lets go dive together soon, it really helps to see any setup in action before making up your mind. Gear considerations aside ... the two of you should dive together. Besides the fact that you have a great deal in common, there's a good possibility you will be taking an AOW class together ....

Re: :)

Thanks for the replies. Vita, which model did you order from USIA? I've been looking at those suits because a lot of instructors use them, and it's difficult to tell which one is best. -Tom That's the wrong reason to purchase a drysuit ... a lot of instructors use them because the largest chain of ...

Bob, Did you get a chance to dive it yet? I can’t tell if your review was from before or after you actually got to dive it. Do you have anything to add to that previous post? I’m trying to decide on a new singles wing and that Torus is definitely a contender. KGDiver Yep, that was after a dive. Bes...

Doug ... you and Erica should go if you have the time.

I'll be out of town, but I've been to Janna's class before, and it's very good.

Well, I can't wait till tomorrow ... this wing is SWEEEEEET !!! I liked the earlier DSS wing ... the LCD ... but the Torus is in a whole 'nother category. Very streamlined ... you don't notice it back there at all, either above or below the water. Trims out nice, balances naturally, and vents easily...

Thanks Bob! Just the kind of input I'm looking for. Twin 119's?!?! :prayer: Wow! :naka: Just curious, what brought the bill to 1200? I'm assuming that a little more than half of that was the tanks? Nope ... that didn't include the tanks ... Regulators - $400 Backplate/harness - $150 Bands - $100 Ma...

Re: Diving Twins

I'm mostly a singles diver, but I do own and dive a set of E8-119 doubles. Why? Because it was something different to try, and I wanted to have the skills to do it for when a dive profile mandated doubles as a better alternative. How? Same way as singles, although the trim takes some getting used to...

Sekiu Jetty

Did my first dives on Sekiu Jetty this past Saturday. Cheng and I were joined by our friend Janet, who lives in Port Angeles, for a pair of dives. I love this dive site. There’s ample (free) parking, nice facilities nearby, and relatively easy entry. It’s a very shallow dive that starts out in eel g...

It came from a mapping project done by a DM at the now-defunct Deep Fathoms ... the dive shop that used to be down the street from Cove 1.

I think it's on Janna's website (PNWScuba.com).

There are a few minor inaccuracies, but overall a very good job.

Yes ... they were all taken with the Fuji F10 that I showed you last night ... your Canon should do at least as well.

Re: Photography for a Dummie

I'm enjoying all the photos in the threads and have seen lots of great pictures. I'm not what I would call a "photographer" and I doubt that I would ever really put a bunch of money in expensive phototraphy equipment, but I do have a 6 mega pixel camera and an underwater housing for it. A...
