Re: Viz Reports Thread
Anybody been diving in the last day or two and can give current viz info? We are contemplating heading up there from Portland for a couple of dives on Wednesday. BUT, considering it's the day before Xmas eve the drive back to Portland has the potential of taking extra long. I really want to be able ...

Re: Whale sightings
They should be starting to travel south. We usually see them in November and December in Oregon. There's always a few early ones, then more of a "crowd" around Xmas.

Re: FS: HP 80's
Great tanks for smaller divers and/or those who have great air consumption. I can easily do dives of an hour or more with these.

I have (4) PST HP 80's with current VIPs and Hydro's that I'd like to sell. All in great shape. Hydro and VIP dates vary. Can supply photos.
$200 each or all (4) for $750.
Located in Portland but can bring to Puget Sound area and meet at a dive site pretty easily-I try to get up there once a week.

If you end up splitting it up, I may want to consider buying your tanks.

Re: Cove2 & Edmonds Oil Dock
So, since the pilings aren't there anymore, where exactly do you dive at Edmonds Oil Dock? That was one of my favorite dive spots but haven't gone there in years because didn't think there'd be much to see there anymore.

Re: Working for free?
My shop also pays ALL of its dive pros. You are expected to assist or teach a class or give a presentation at least every 90 days or you lose your shop discount. It also offers a discount rate for PADI insurance but if you teach outside the shop, you need to get your own insurance. Like Jeff said, y...

Re: Deception Pass
And I read a lot of posts without ever intending to do a dive at the site being discussed. I personally don't really want to dive Deception Pass again but I still read the posts about it. So, just because X number of divers viewed your post without posting may not mean much.

Been diving there for years and although the number of places to park has reduced over the years, no one has ever said that you had to parallel park.

Cove 2 under the Honey Bear above where the huge GPO's hang out is a common spot for them. I've seen as many as 4 or 5 together under there. I haven't dove Cove 2 since the mooring of the barge and the "reorganization" of the Honey Bear and the entire divesite but that is where I have freq...

Diving after Knee Replacement
Anyone on this board diving with a replacement knee? I will have to have one in my nearish future and wonder how well it works here. I know of a couple of divers that have no problem diving with their replacement knee but they are warm water divers-not near as much weight and they mostly do boat div...

Don't have my id books with me at work but the fish is definitely a Cod. Pacific or Tom. Would need my books to know the difference. They appear from time to time. Have seen them at Redondo and Three Tree several times.

Re: Newbie question about weight configuration
+1 for the weight harness. Gets the weight off your waist and onto your shoulders. It is still around your waist and still a bit in the way of your BC but not near as intrusive. And they are adjustable enough that it can hang below your BC if you really want it to.

Re: Vancouver BC diving recommendations
There's a dive shop in North Vancouver that does a weekly dive. I think on Wednesdays but I'm not sure and it could have changed anyway. Try contacting them. I've never been able to make it work to meet up for one of their dives but they are very friendly and helpful.
