Re: Is it time to update the Weekly Dives thread?
I sent Tom Nic a PM many, many moons ago asking about whether the Thursday dives should be included in the weekly dives. The Thursday dives weren't occurring publicly and/or often enough back then to get them listed though. It would be cool to get them listed imo. Although I do have a question regar...

Re: Sea star die-off
I did a dive very recently (I can't remember where...) and I remember seeing lots of sea star arms laying around. So yeah, I've seen this happening. I didn't know this was on a large scale though

Is HOG gear ever not on sale at DRIS? I think it always has been every time I have visited their site. I try to avoid visiting their web store too often though--it puts my wallet in severe and immediate danger!

Re: I am looking at reels and SMB's...recommendations?
Spools are fine. But I don't like them. Prefer reels for a variety of reasons. Anyway, I dislike the side handle config of Halcyon and Light Monkey. My favorite is the good old Long Island Wreck Reel: http://www.reefscuba.com/litension.htm Josh, i think i may still have one of these laying around c...

I was amazed with all the life on the Diamond Knot. I kinda wish I was able to dive it prior to the superstructure started coming down.

I don't know who dove it Sunday, but I know some people who dove "Stellar Rock" on...Wednesday I believe? Maggie is Sea Goat on the board. You could PM her to ask what vis was like. I dove the Diamond Knot on Friday and vis was 50 ft there.

Re: Weighting question
Doh! Yeah, that might do it. I was free diving in Cove 2 a couple months ago and was using 4 lbs of lead at high tide. I went out there another day (low tide) only to find that 4 lbs was sinking me on the surface. It wasn't a small change in buoyancy either. The swing was quite drastic. So that may ...

2 - This one actually seems more plausible, but I thought of it second. Do you guys know if you own any neutral Al80s? I am wondering if maybe the first tanks you dove were neutral 80s, and the second ones you dove were just normal 80s. That could probably do it. Luxfer AlN80s are listed as having ...
