Re: You gave me a heat pack Saturday: reporting how it worked!
I started using the type available from Wal Mart about a month ago. I love them. They cost around $1.50 for a three pack and they make them for both the hands and the feet. I am at work right now or I would post a picture of them. :-( I do dive them with a drysuit, never thought about the Nitrox asp...

Re: Thoughts on filling ones own tanks
Guys, Thanks for all the input!!! The dive shop in Oak Harbor is GREAT and convient to me. The price on the compressor would be pretty hard to beat... as close to free as one could imagine... basically gas money to pick it up. NO, I'm not gonna tell anyone where its at. :-) I really have no plans cu...

Thoughts on filling ones own tanks
I have an opportunity to get my hands on a Bauer JR II-E1 compressor with filtration system. Just wondering if anyone has ever had their own compressor to fill their tanks and what issues they have had to deal with?
Thanks for any info!!!

Skyline Boat Dive today???
Skyline has some pretty decent slack from around 1100 to near 4 or so this afternoon. Anyone up North (or South for that matter) want to do a boat dive on the outter part of the wall? When I shore dive there, I usually only make it to the 2 85 foot holes before I have to turn and come back. I want t...

Re: Onamac Point, Saratoga Passage
GREAT Pics Scott! It's good to finally dive with someone with a camera. I have thought about getting one, but I have way too much ADD to use it properly, so I'd never get my money out of it. :blur: Couldn't have asked for a better day with better people. If anyone else wants to hit Onamac, it is eas...

Re: Looking to dive sat 3 / 21
Wind FINALLY laid down today. I will gladly throw the boat in the water and head over to Onamac Point if you or anyone wants to make that happen.

Weird Conditions at Skyline 3/19
Was supposed to dive Onamac today, but mother nature just wasn't going to have that, so we did the next best thing... Shore dive at Skyline!!! Nothing special happened, although when I fot in the water and started walking, it didn't get any deeper??? I was way out past the house on the right and was...

Re: Sat Mar 7th Deception Pass (almost)!
Awesome post. Thanks for the info. I use http://www.saltwatertides.com/pickpred.html to see when the floods and ebbs are. Granted, it does not have current values. I suppose I should dtart to learn the current method also. I hae dove Skyline when there is a pretty strong ebb (pushing against me on t...

Re: Sat Mar 7th Deception Pass (almost)!
Whatevah, As I was coming back across the pass early morning, I realized a few of my misconceptions. I saw that flood was a 6.8 and ebb was a 6.4 (or something along those lines) over a 5 hour period. I figured with only 3 inches of water moving, we could dive the whole time between ebb and flood. I...

Re: 3/15/09 San Juans charter
If you cancel and still want to get out, I am good with a Saturday or Sunday dive on my boat (weather dependant). I can fit 4 divers (would be a bit crampped as its a 25 footer, but I have done it before). If the wife drives, all can drop together. If not, I would need to do a 2 out, 2 in style dive...

Sat Mar 7th Deception Pass (almost)!
Last week, the stars were lining up good for a Deception Pass dive on Saturday... 1. Wife was willing to drive the boat. 2. Decent slack period with minimal water exchange between flood and ebb tide 3. Dive buddy was in town. Of course as the week progressed, I noticed the marine forecast was gettin...

Re: Friday Feb 27th at Onamac Point
would it be possible to plan a dive with you guys there and I could drive to the launch and stage gear on the shore and have you take me out ??? Absolutely!!! It is a great afternoon dive for me and I will splash the boat whenever I can to head out that way. I am thinking of going fishing there tomo...

That put me right on top of it. Shows up pretty good on the bottom finder also. We were diving at low tide and bottom was around 55 feet.

Friday Feb 27th at Onamac Point
Got out of work early today and managed to persuade my dive buddy to splash the boat and run over to Onamac point. Its only about a 6 mile run so it is perfect for the quick afternoon trip. His spear gun came in today so he was not a hard sell to go. I was just a bit apprehensive getting in the wate...

Re: Saturday 2/21 James Island and Belle Rocks
Unfortunately, no pictures. The virgin had a camera, but was too cold to use it. I thought about buying a camera, but I doubt I'd get much use out of it as I like to move around a lot under water. I think you are talking about the reef on Camano island, also know as "Onamac Point"??? If so...

Re: Saturday 2/21 James Island and Belle Rocks
That's it. Here are the GPS coordinates:
N48 29.576 W122 45.199
The current took us from Belle Rocks straight to bird rocks, which are just over a half a mile to the south west. (Lots of dive sites very close to each other).

Saturday 2/21 James Island and Belle Rocks
Took the boat out today for a "scheduled" 3 tanker which turned into a 2 tanker. Had my normal dive buddy with me and a "virgin" to cold water diving (he was in a 7 mil wetsuit) Started out at James Island on the eastern side. Had the wife dump us out of the boat in approx 25 fee...

Re: Possession point ferry
Thanks Pez,
I have been a "lurker" on the board for a while now. Just could not resist chiming in when I saw the Possession Point Ferry post. It really is an incredible dive.

Re: Possession point ferry
I dove the ferry 2 weeks ago Sunday. The bouy was gone, and has been for some time now, to the best of my recollection. It was pretty easy to find the site with GPS and Fish Finder though. 2 Weeks ago, was a pretty high water exchange, so we were there before slack and even at slack, the surface cur...
