CompuMask/DataMask
I'm rather excited, my CompuMask is working again. I had to drill some screws out and go onto the Internet to find new ones, but it works! Does anybody else, or has anybody else, used this mask? I'm so spoiled I fussed over it for 2 years to get it fixed. Having all my info right there in the HUD is...

Re: Dusty
Praying for a successful surgery and full recovery. If you're able to dive again, I'm sure we can all put our heads together and come up with some gear for you. Just focus on your health right now.

Re: Hello from Roatan!
The trip was a challenge mainly because of my bad knee. It did not like those airline seats and let me know it the whole way. Then our plane from Chicago was delayed and we almost missed our connection in Houston. We had no idea how far away it was but we knew we were cutting it close. I saw a court...

Hello from Roatan!
Kathy and I arrived at Cocoview yesterday afternoon after one of the longest and most exhausting plane trips we've ever taken. And that was without any real issues to contend with. But we're here, and the fun starts today. Hope everybody in Puget Sound is spending lots of time underwater to escape t...

And the Camera Wasn't Rolling :(
Saturday before last, the wife and I went to Redondo to test my new dry suit seals. Down near the carousel boat we came upon a little octopus. Anybody who knows my wife knows she lives to find octos, so we stopped to check it out and play a little bit. At some point it hopped up and started to take ...

Re: Sund Rock changes
We have been there once in the past three years because of the price. These days we take one or two trips a year to Mike's and have a great time diving there instead.

Re: Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?
Another vote for tank and weight placement. My daughter used to wear 5 pounds of ankle weight on each foot because her feet were so floaty. Some advice from a very smart person led us to adjust her tank and her weight harness down several inches, and she was able to eliminate the ankle weights altog...

Les Davis is also a great place to look for the little critters that live on the reef and out on the mud flats. Go slow and look careful and it's amazing how much life there is out there.

I couldn't dive because of my recent knee replacement, but it was nice to get out and see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.
Also, big thanks to whoever was running the grill. Good food!

Lost gear alert
Today at Redondo, Kathy had a bad situation and had to bail. In the process she lost her camera and her mask. The camera was lost somewhere near the carousel boat. She lost the mask in waist-deep water over by the beach. The camera is an Olympus in a waterproof case and the mask has a pink snorkel. ...

Back In The Water
Since my wife got to see the sixgill hanging around Redondo lately, I decided to suck it up and go see if I could get a peek. I have issues from stem to stern; the pinched nerve in my neck has gotten worse and has been causing major spasms in my left shoulder that have me walking like Igor from Youn...

Re: Club Dive at Sund Rock
BTW GDog, I'm pretty sure that's a Nanaimo dorid. Kathy saw several like that, the coloring seems to be coming from something they eat there. But you can just see the red tips of the rhinophores, which is what makes me think Nanaimo. Everybody feel free to correct me.

I have probably said it to a hundred people over the years: this is the most amazing group of people I have ever gotten to be part of. I appreciate being allowed to rub shoulders with all of you. Follow-up: the knee replacement didn't happen. I got in there, was getting ready, but my neck pain was s...

It was great to see some familiar friends and make some new ones today. +1 to what Jeff says. I remember when he felt like you, and now he is in the Can light camp! Put me in that category as well. When you put lumens vs price, I have not found a better deal or a more reliable light. And he's local so if it needs service he'll take care of it for you, and I can vouch f...

Lost Mask at Saltwater
My young friend was diving at Saltwater today, and apparently on the surface swim in he lost his mask. It's black, with yellow lenses, has PS written in white on it, and has a blue snorkel. If somebody finds it, please drop me a note and I'll make all the arrangements. Thanks!

The big sculpin is a red Irish lord. The rockfish is a brown, flatfish are notoriously hard, at least for me. That last critter is Homo sapiens subaqueous.
