I don't know if that chicken is really safe... Is it black?

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Viz in Lake Washington is still good. Found the bottom of the Leschi Wall last night and I'd say it could have been 20-25 ft. Dropping down the buoy chain was about 15 maybe 20 ft. Makes it easy not to crater into the bottom and the dive wasn't the usual haunted house type experience!

Re: drysuit gloves: opinions anyone?
I've used the Viking bayonet system and found them to be pretty difficult to turn to lock in place and to remove. Perhaps lube might have helped that, they were on a suit I was borrowing. The plus side is that they are VERY secure and don't leak until you put a hole in your glove. On my old suit I h...

I have to say that I really appreciate Kirby allowing the account of what happened to be released. There are so many accidents where the details are never known. I hope many people can learn from this. Thanks & best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Cove II yesterday: yes, the only reason the dive lasted 17 minutes was that our team of 3 (+3 Cudas) repeatedly got separated every 10 seconds and we failed to find the regroup point at the same time. Surfaced, saw bubbles, scooted to a buoy and during the 2nd descent, could barely maintain visual c...

Re: Tip's to keep me from looking like a dweeb... (THZ)
Once after a long, deep dive I towed a couple buddies (we were all in doubles) with my Cuda Fury about 100 yards back to the entry point at The Junkyard. Since I had a lot remaining capacity, of course I got it into the highest speed for the taxi ride. This put a LOT of pressure on my harness and my...

Re: Adive on the big computer purchase (size advice only)
I haven't actually dived a Predator but I know at least a half a dozen people that do. They seem a lot bigger than a pack of cigarettes to me. Bigger in all 3 of the dimensions by a 1/2 inch? The X1s are definitely 1/2 pack of cigarettes and the Xeo (not quite out yet) a little bit bigger but still ...

Re: Oceans Blue on Planet Green this week
Thanks for the heads-up. My TiVo is doing it's job. I checked out the first couple minutes just to make sure it was in HD (yeah, can't really watch SD anymore ;-) In the first couple of minutes, I noticed many quick shots of what was to come in the program and immediately saw tons of really bad trim...
