Teaser for Janna

This is for Janna 'cause she'd rather go look for these than hang with her Level 5 padiwans. This is what I saw from a distance: sundrock9182010 236.jpg So I swam a little closer.... do you see it yet? sundrock9182010 238.jpg How bout now? sundrock9182010 239.jpg Pretty sneaky hanging out with the b...

Re: Hood Canal, Evergreen Dive Services, & Dieseldude

The board messed up my buddy shot & text & scrambled them. The buddy shot is obviously at the end. Its right in the draft but not the final print. Go figure!

Re: Hood Canal, Evergreen Dive Services, & Dieseldude

OK so I'm back to do some more here. One of these days I'm gonna quit this work stuff & just dive & tell fish stories. Thanks for the link Rich. That was definitely the same fish. I'm thumbing my nose at all the people that tell me theres nothing to see deep. Apparently just species most of ...

Hood Canal, Evergreen Dive Services, & Dieseldude

One of our newest & arguably friendliest dive shops in town, Evergreen Dive Services put together a trip package for the yellow House down in Hoodsport & though I normally have an aversion to crowds, most especially underwater, I managed to trick my wife into letting me partake for the weeke...

Re: Whatcom / Skagit Divers

Stanwood. I'd like to do more north end diving than I do. the traffic is way better & the beaches in general seem less crowded. I have hit the well known spots but would love to find some of the local secrets in that area. I promise not to post if warned in advance.

Re: Finally like minded people

welcome to the board / club! Yes, you will find no shortage of deep divers around here, we are a pretty good bowl of mixed nuts here! I generally stay above 100', but there are quite a few Narcosis Junkies around here too! Hey, I resemble that remark! Whats wrong with Narcosis? At my age I'd look p...

Re: To the Vandal(s) at Mukilteo:

oops-forgot to comment on the wolfie habitat-totall loss there & they made a big mess. I think in the short term I might try to pile the bricks up in a manner that does not resemble something that looks like a bomb went off. I need daylight for that.

Re: To the Vandal(s) at Mukilteo:

As was already stated, the damage wasnt as bad as we were told. Looks like many of the zip ties were cut & the dome rolled & folded. It is semi supported now but has a broken/folded leg. Short term plans are to eliminate the zip tie connections. Thought needs to be given to the marine life t...

Re: To the Vandal(s) at Mukilteo:

I had plans for a deepwater run out there tonight. They are now on hold. I will be there with a buddy at roughly 7:30 with some rope & we will try to do some damage control. My biggest concern is new student divers getting wrapped up in the debri. We did not plan for this so we will do the best ...

Re: Reef neah Bay days 3,4,5....

Nice pics and report. Pic 035 really captures that Neah Bay feeling. Were you diving Sekiu Jetty from shore? Sekiu Jetty was done from shore. There are 2 possible entrances. 1 is off the right which is a rickety ramp that requires you paying attention to your foot placement & the other is far l...

Deception Pass 9/4/2010

Well the only way I could bare to follow up Neah Bay would be a dive like Skyline or Deception Pass. As it happened, The currents for the pass were marginal but doable. I sent out some heads up on this but I was the loan diver for the day although there were more than enough fisherman to make up for...

Reef neah Bay days 3,4,5....

Well I intended to get all my editing done each night, do my surveys, & post a report but things dont always play out the way we plan. Days 3 & 4 both ended with bonus dives at Sekiu Jetty which I can tell you now that the trip is over was a better dive than anything we did friday. Grain of ...

Re: Mukilteo - Silver Cloud site

Be Carefull around the dish. There was a minor malfunction in its repositioning & the structure showed its age & split apart. It is resting back on the ground but I do not advise poking any heads to far in the openings. Repair options are being considered.
