I hate you :tappingfoot: Thats all I have to say. You dream stealer! MJ Well Mike, I did invite you along after all. :smt064 Its not the location that I missed, it's the ccr experience. I could have done that with you(on no sleep since I work 3rd shift)but I would have had to wear doubles, 2 AL80's...

Re: Fort Lauderdale Reef Dive
Looks like you had some good diving there Chris. I have done some tropical diving in Maui & recognize some of your fish but the bottom terrain & lots of the inverts look different to me. It peaks my interest to dive that part of the world someday. Too bad you couldnt have got some flood on y...

Re: Northwest Nudibranchs
This is one of my fav threads. I had to bump it back into view. I know you are all see'in lots-o-nudi's. Lets see'em. Heres a couple locals: Tdock1152011 044.jpg This comes from the top of the Geodome in Mukilteo. I am not a slug specialist but I think it is a Barnacle Eating Nudibranch aka Onchidor...

FYI it's an easier hike to the North beach from the Bridge than it is from the North beach gate that is locked. Also recomend you drop an 50-60 minutes before slack(9:56am PyD)& If the chart is right, it's going to turn hard & fast & you'll be getting out shortly after predicted slack. I...

Re: Rosario Beach whidbey Island
yeah, that was the last time I saw my favorite mask since I had to ditch my gear on the beach & go looking for my missing buddy who was still shootin' video. Funny how your vid makes it look like it wasnt a half bad dive either. I was pretty bored with it although in it's defense, we had just le...

Re: Deaf divers
We have a few deaf divers in our area, one of which is legendary for spotting critters most folks miss. One downside I witnessed at Mukilteo was one of the divers had a freeflow & none of the group could hear it. 2 of my dive buddies saved the diver from a total loss of air but it was surely a s...

neah Bay is very cool Chris but most of us have a long haul to get there & no money for a boat ride when we do. You got all the "connections". Whats it like to be a dive mafia boss?H20doctor wrote:Neah bay... There is no other..

Re: Dive Knife found at T-Dock
Was it stabbed into the sand? I got in after Steve left & did a long dive. I found a knife but it was of poor quality including the word china on one side & looked more like a steak knife. Without a sheath to put it in, It wasnt worth risking a whole in my new drysuit & I had more dive ...

Re: What is your fav dive loc in pnw??
Deception pass is current ripper & the deeper you go the harder it pulls in general. I've pushed 100' there. Not what I call deep but some would. Very cool stuff to see above 50' but knowldege of drift diving & how to plan that sight is important. Posession point Ferry is backward from that....

Re: What is your fav dive loc in pnw??
I was watching some reef diving videos on u-tube and was wondering do we have any good reefs with good visibility here in pnw? I am sure it would not be that great like the tropics but still. Carefull. Those are fightin' words. For blow you away Reefs I recomend Deception Pass & Posession Point...

Nice shots Chris. I really enjoyed the dive & was more than a little disappointed when I got home & found out I didnt get near as many cool shots as I thought I did. The dubs were killing me & I think I was twitching too much when the shutter snapped. Oh well, just have to go back & ...

critter musings-to reef or not to reef....
Most folks are familiar with T-dock on some level. I'd guess most never venture far past the geodome and only a few go out to the satelite dish & manequin. There is a bouy sitting out there maybe 200yds swim-not enough for a heart attack but far enough for me to ask myself each time why I bother...

Re: The piling al Mukilteo
I saw the same thing yesterday & had the same question for rockfish. I'd estimate its height more than 15'. wherever it came from, its been underwater for a while. I'm assuming I have just missed it in the past. I also noticed that the sat dish is home to more rockfish all broken up than it was ...

I find it interesting how many folks talk about sidemount in our water and yet I have only seen one guy dumb enough(locally) to get in the water & experiment with it. I'd be willing to be based on the little I know about you Scott, that you have everything you need now to put together a rockin' ...

Congrats & my condolences all in one. If you werent allready a dive junkie(I think you were) then the camera will cinch it up for you. I feel lost & out of place when I dive without my camera. Sounds like it is affecting your bouyancy concentration. I think after a while it will actually hel...

You should give sidemount a shot. I love it. I dove my dubs again last weekend after several trips sidemount & the dubs were killing me. I'd like to get my hands on one of those helmets so I can mount some lights on my head. Very cool.

Nice shots & they are always a welcome find to me. I have actually noted an increase in other varietys as well. I saw a golden dirona today which I have not spotted in a while & got a nice shot of a giant Red Dendranotid. Lets call it "slugfest" and enjoy.

Redondo night dive with the Doc
This is kind of a rushed report as they are about to turn off my wifi & lock me out of the building. H2Odoc met me for a night dive on the 26th & I was reminded that I need to stop by the Dond more often. I saw almost every sculpin I know & still cant believe how many grunt sculpin we fo...

Mike - let's try and pull together a trip this Winter... It would be great to dive again, and I'd love to add to the REEF surveys I've done. We got to name a "new" (to the REEF database and to Scott & Jude) site - Nudi Kung Fu, and I've still got some surveys that I haven't turned it y...

Re: Road Test Rec sidemount-Round 3 w/pics
Sounds like you're having fun with your new setup. The idea of backmounting deco gas got me thinking though. I know you dive solo alot. Aren't you worried that in the case of a deco reg malfunction (Like say an extruded O-ring) you can't access it to loosen or tighten the reg or swap it out with on...
