Re: Back in the PNW, need to find a diveshop for maint

So, I'm back in the PNW and looking for a diveshop around Everett and Lynnwood. Need to find a place to fix my neck-seal, service my regs, and hydro/viz my tanks. Also, need an undergarment and in the future, another OLED computer. Why would you let your gear get that way? Because unlike ...

Uspersonal le One could say the same thing about how a bee flies. I'm asking because Google doesn't have personal preferences, and doesn't include all the reviews. Wow google showed 3 dive shops in the area Lynwood lighthouse, edmonds underwater sports, everett evergreen dive..., so difficult shark...

Re: Back in the PNW, need to find a diveshop for maint

Thanks spatty!

Woodinville isn't too far away, but it is a 40 minute round trip. But, I'd rather drive to a place that is trust worthy. My regs are atomic and scubapro, though I may sell the second stage scubapro soon as I much prefer the atomic.

Thanks for any and all advice!

Thanks, one of these days I'll have to get with you and figure out how to make an electronic switch. Those SST's and XML's sure are big emitters, they do make it tough to focus all that light into a coherent beam. Fear the side mount diver with the light saber!! :violent3: HAHA what happened to if ...

Schooling on a foreign object is always best. Although there are some people who can think ahead and anticipate emergencies, coming up with safety procedures from pure theory and then testing those theories. The majority of our population can't or doesn't do this efficiently. I like to evaluate mys...

Re: Leaking first.

So I connect my din Atomic first to my tank and open the valve. I get a air leaking/hissing out. Turns out my din is loose from my first. I grab my Allen wrench and tighten it down (was finger loose) reconnect it and all is well. Is the Allen suppose to be torqued to a spec or something? Had the sa...

Re: Recharge When?

I started this thread to get more knowledge about the kind of batteries that are used in scuba. There have been some good inputs from posters and I've gotten some more info from outside sources. Here is what I think I know as of now, subject to further factoids, of course. In scuba batteries are de...

Re: Not a dive light....Yet.

what is the current draw on that module? Seems like 3 18650s is insufficient and its says it can run on only 2? panasonic 3.1 amp battery 3.7x3.1x3 / rounded light draw (60 watts realistic with inefficiencies) 5x 10 watts equals you won't have enough power to drive that thing for an hour if driven ...

Re: Recharge When?

I'm not sure what their claim of available duty cycles has to do with sales; except that it would discourage me from buying their batteries. I assume these batteries are no different than those I'm accustomed to using. For those the rule is to use until failure unless in certain critical applicatio...

Guess that should answer questions unless there is something scuba specific they don't know. call them back up and ask them about running them to power a heating vest for scuba diving that is entirely analog 'circuitry' and has absolutely no low voltage cutout and ask how careful you should be of d...

Re: Looking for a great inexpensive light?

I would expect some dimming across the burn-time. An alkaline C cell (highest quality) can put out roughly 8 watts for 1 hour. With 3 you have the capacity of 24 watt hours. The emitter in this light draws 10 watts at max output (the claimed 1k lumen), so you can see that it would be capable of max...

Re: 5-28, the adventures of solo scooter boy @ Sund Rock

I would say since air is thinner than water, you would have less resistance on the surface..... You're forgetting about surface tension, and as you're out of trim there may be more drag. D If I didn't know better I would claim Dash was faster on the surface because he was tall and had a long waterl...
