John, thanks for the great sharing of information... It is always great to learn.
I hope I manage to see one more 6 gill somehow, some way, prior to the grand adventure commencing.

I will be moving off to a part of the world that definitely rivals the PNW in terms of awesome diving potential... and I depart in relatively short order (July). Never fear, I am hauling the vast majority of my gear with me to Singapore. :) However, there are a few items that are not making the trip...

It was great meeting so many new folks. We had a great crew out for dive 1 and then there were many, many folks getting geared up for...

Sea Lions are fun. Don't let down your guard, mind you, but it's very rare that they are aggressive in a scary way.

Cap'n Jack's Almanac / Tide Log is a yearly "must have" purchase.
+1 on Fischnaller's book. It is worth every penny even for paying out-of-print. Mine is duct taped together from overuse. I have found the corrections to be spot on accurate as recently as just 2 weekends ago.

I should add that Doug Marcoux has also been an integral part of the planning and rollout of GUE Seattle... can't have a plan without a marketing genius to pitch in ideas.
There are many exciting projects, classes, and just plain old fun diving opportunities coming up. Stay tuned!
