Saddened, I slowly shake my head at the senselessness of it all.... At some level, they may indeed feel they had the "right" to do what they did, but I wonder how much of it was driven by that indignent "in-your-face" / "I can do what I want" attitude that you see in so...

ADM E-Zine Criticism

On occasion, I have seen where general topics about standards and good taste are discussed, so I thought I'd throw one out that has been bothering me... (this is a revised post that I had under a different title - Having thought about it today, this more closely says what I think.) Maybe I'm alone i...

Was in Costco today and saw previews for the series on BIG HD TVs - really awesome - the pictures on some of the sets was no-kiddin' like real! The only thing I was missing was the sound of my reg & feeling wet!

Too dang bad those things are so expen$$ive!

... There's so much wrong with this story that I'm not sure where to begin ...... please, rethink your approach to diving. ... Wouldn't want this site to start getting too similar to Scubaboard. *Shudder*. ... But, it's only fair to expect people to point out dangerous sounding behavior, too. .... ...

Great advice on where to get pure talc. Thanks! --- It just doesn't exist in local drugstores (I've been everywhere I can think of!) I have come across some on the internet if you search for allergy-free products - but at a premium price with the " allergy-free " association. The problem w...

What's a Fair Price?

Need some advice of a fair price to offer for an AL 80: My neighbor who stopped diving several years ago lent me his Luxfer AL 80. It is in excellent shape. The hydro had expired, so I had it hydro'd, rebuilt the valve, and VIP'd 2x (have been using it a lot for over a year). He'll be moving soon, a...

Aquanaut's Home

An interesting CNN story about a 29 YO "entrepreneur and science hobbyist" who spent 13 days inside an 8-by-10-foot underwater home made from recycled scrap metal welded to be watertight. Sounds like he was getting close to having real problems from high concentrations of CO2. He was using...

Re: Safer Way Please...!

.... Lead is absolutely not good for you, and especially kids. Aside from the heavy metal toxicity, liquid lead can VERY EASILY get out of its container and splash! It burns everything! BAD!!! Lead will easily melt over the heat of a good BBQ out in the back yard. Don't use a sauce pan or a large s...

YOUR TECHNIQUE? --- Rock Boots

Folks - While I am thoroughly satisfied with my DUI TLS 350.... - the way you tie off the rock boot laces seems awkward (the plastic lace slide - wrap - velcro - and tuck the ends) - and not as secure as it could be, though I haven't had any problems with them coming undone. Anybody have a different...

I can't imagine diving in anything besides my High Tide suit. Custom fit and comes with pretty much everything else that other suits only offer as add-ons.
