Great Service

Post by Bric Martin »

I just had a really good experience with Maxtec and I thought I would pass it on.

About 3 years ago I bought a O2 analyzer from Maxtec. Up until about 2 weeks ago I have had no problems with it at all. On one of my recent dive days I tossed the analyzer in my reg bag and drove up north. When I got to my destination the reg bag was soaked and the analyzer was dead. Needless to say I had made a stupid mistake and was pissed at myself.

I gave Maxtec a call hoping that it could be fixed. After working with their Tech support I realized it was dead and probably not fixable. As I was about to get off the phone the guy said.. let me check something and he ran the serial number. He saw where I had bought it and when. He then told me the warranty was 1 month out of date. I started to laugh as I had no doubt that I was now at the end of the road. He then made my day. He said, look I have a little leeway here. He said that because he was unsure when I had bought the unit versus when it was shipped he could send me a new circuit board.

So yesterday it arrived and my analyzer is new again. I had damaged the unit, it was out of warranty, and they treated me great. Thank you Maxtec, this is the kind of service people dream about!
