Get out and dive!

Post by LCF »

I've done three straight days of diving, three different sites, and the viz has been FANTASTIC everywhere. Now is the time to get out and dive, if you possibly can!

Our OW students from yesterday and today just didn't have any idea how good they had it :)

Hope the good vis lasts till the week-end ... tides are awesome for some nice sites. Thinking to head off to Pt. Townsend on Saturday ...

Headed to Hood Canal Sunday for some boat dives then an afternoon of BBQ, frisbee throwing for the dogs and possibly some tasty brews. Life is good!

What is great viz? More than 20ft?

We've had 25-30 ft vis at Norrander's Reef and Point Hudson. 30ft at Norrander's makes a huge difference, it's a whole different (better!) dive.

The best times seem to be just after a flood tide (high tide).

Went out at muk with high hopes on Sunday... sadly, it wasn't quite what i was hoping for. Add to that a crab rodeo and the viz was pretty much.... nada:D
I think you've figured out the root cause of your problems. Even sea lions get annoyed by splitfin divers silting out their dive sites. Switch back to your jets and you'll be safe from the sea lion silt prevention patrol from now on. - NWbrewer

*BUMP*
vis is good right now, get out & dive!
We had great viz below about 10ft at Redondo last night. Whale snot in the first 10ft, then really clear below that, all the way down to the carousel boat.
