Just about no starfishes at sund rock

Just about no starfishes at sund rock

Post by sculpin »

Went diving this saturday. Had a great time. We got three dives in before three o'clock.
It was right dead on a year to the day from my first dive. Same location.
The first time there were floppy starfishes all over the place.
This year i only saw three. Each of a different type. Was quite amazed. Not in a good way. My diving friends said they saw quite a few in the spring.

Was hoping they might be affected by the weather and fare better in the cold?
Hopefully survive the wasting disease in the long run

On the bright side saw quite a few wolf eels and some very cute nudibranchias and quite a large jelly, at least 20" across, just floating at the bottom, was surprised it remained stationary.
